how many of us joined dvc 'cause of f&f incentive?

It got us off the fence. Our guide mentioned "tongue in cheek" about all the "friends" that people suddenly found. Not sure what they really think of the referrals here, but this board is the reason we bought in - what with the built in research that is so available and all the encouragement. All members of DIS DVC should receive a portion of the referral fee .

Yeah, I think that sounds like me. If it weren't for F&F and the impending deadline pushing me over the edge, I would probably be still considering, hemming and hawing.......instead, we have papers ready to sign and return! Or should I say: F&F was just TOO good for me to pass it up.

I was going to post the same question.

The past year I looked into DVC. Just was not the right time I guess. After my December trip I came back to this board and read about it. It was the Freinds & Family promotion as well as the 2005 "free" points that put me over the top.

Already have my first trip home booked!

After thinking about it for 3.5 years (since BCV went on sale) I had pretty much decided NOT to buy. Prices and incentives were nice when we looked into it in 2002, but we weren't sure about commiting to Disney and financially we weren't in the right place. Looked at it again periodically but basically decided the price had creeped way too high and I was happy with trying out a new resort every time.

But.... I drifted back here as I always do and found out about the promotion, and decided what the heck, it was the right time. Price is very nice. Feel very good about SSR... the location is not as great as some but love the look of it, the not-so-high point structure and the ability to book Grand Villas 11 months out (probably will not book them that often but I want the option.)

Would never have done it if not for the incentive.

I had not even looked at DVC for a few years, but when I was planning my honeymoon in Orlando (including a DCL cruise), it got me looking back on this forum, and found out about the F&F promotion. It was just too good to pass up, especially now that I am in North Carolina, only 10 hours drive from WDW!

We purchased a 100 point resale contract to get us into DVC right before the F & F promo, but it's why we added on another 120 points in Dec. We were on the fence for several years before joining. I only wished we did it sooner.

You should restart the thread with a poll, that way it can keep track of the numbers for you.

I wasn't able to utilize F&F because I did my add-on about a month before it started. I still got a great deal because I was able to get the '04 points.

I do know that I helped quite a few folks get the F&F discount and was more than happy to help!

Yep - we joined after a trip to Disneyland this past November. Found out about the F&F promo on this board and moved on it with a quickness.

Great promo and the wife was just saying last night she's happy we did it. All of this as we prepare for our second son to come into this world within the next week (God willing

We've made two reservations for next year - one in September with the in-laws and kids in a 2BR, and one for me and the wife in December alone. Funny how joining has changed our conversations from where doyou want to go this year and do you think we should take a vaction this year, to WHEN are we going to DisneWorld?

Glad the promo was there to hep make it all possible.

My DW was finally convinced with the F&F. We will be calling tomorrow to finally say yes. It helped that we took a trip this past weekend with good friends of ours who are Members and stayed in a studio in SSR. We got to ride EE (incredible ride!!) thanks to them and took the tour with thier guide on Monday. He was great and answered all our questions, even the few I thought of on the flight home and asked today on the phone.

The F&F made our decision much easier.Without the promo we would of waited and we now know that the price is suppose to go up soon. Thank God we didn't wait.We are so happy and excited. Greg
