Seems like they have been opening several a week for months. What will the final total be?
That is exactly what I am worried about. It was always a destination for us during every trip but I'm not sure now. We will try it on our next trip because the kids insist on Goofys Candy Shop. I want to get a Christmas ornament and we have an ADR at trex. But I'm scared it will be so non disney that we will be ripped from the "Disney bubble". I don't want any glimmer of reality while we are on vacation and I think a regular mall with tons of stores most copied from home will deny my vacation mood.Back when it was DTD, it was small and mostly Disney themed and fun to hang out some while on vacation. Now it is nothing more than another outlet center, at least to us. So, we will just remove it from our plans in the future.

Good idea.Go to the WDW site and they list all the stores and restaurants that are or will be there.
Yes, 150.I agree, it certainly seems that way
The original announcement from Disney said there would be an additional 150 shops and restaurants in Disney Springs
How current and accurate this is is open. Scroll to the bottom.as far as CS meals is there a way to find out which restaurants do or don't take the ddp?

On our trip last September, I was really dreading going to the new Disney Springs, I liked the old way, don't change it *I thought*. We went to Boathouse and I was amazed at the changes. I love the new bridge and lighting, and the entire area felt alive with music. There was a band that had a dance party going on, individual singers here and there, and I felt like there was an electricity in the air. I bought my first pair of Sanuk sandals -love those. On a different night on the bridge there was an amazing photopass Photagrapher from Scotland who was hilarious and we got the most awesome pictures. That was before the new mall area opened, so my hope is that it will still have the same fun vibe. We have an outlet mall about 20 miles down the road from us-it even has a Ghirardeli's though it's not the same treat as being in WDW. I don't typically go on vacation to shop, at least not to Disney.
When my husband and I were there last October we felt the same exact way as you! The atmosphere was exciting and I agree about the electricity in the air. We were really excited and glad that the Port Orleans resorts are our favorites because of the boat connecting to Disney Springs. We just got back from a trip in June and oh my goodness I felt so overwhelmed! I grew up in central Florida so Downtown Disney was somewhere my friends and I frequented. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt to get it all finished but it was PACKED and like others wanted to get into my staples and back on the boat to French Quarter. I know I'm not the target audience and won't be buying things from the 'outlet' type stores but I will be sad if I feel overwhelmed every time I go. Hopefully it was just a crazy summer day!
If you arrive at DS via Disney bus, you'll end up in the "bubble" area. But I'm scared it will be so non disney that we will be ripped from the "Disney bubble".
We were there in early June and we really liked the new parking structures and the look and feel of the new areas. But one thing we noticed about the new stores are they are all higher end stores that charge bookoo dollars for everything. Just like you Tigger, I don't feel like I'm part of the target audience. I like to splurge on vacation but $80 bucks for a polo shirt is just stupid...imo.
Are you looking for something specific? Morimoto Asia, Boathouse, STK, and Frontera Cocina are listed as available TS in DS.I'm like most and will skip the high end retail shops. Looking forward to the new restaurants they. Some aren't on the WDW site to book? At least I can't find them![]()
I'm on My Disney Experience right now. The only one of these showing up for me is The Boathouse and Morimoto. I must be doing something wrongAre you looking for something specific? Morimoto Asia, Boathouse, STK, and Frontera Cocina are listed as available TS in DS.
