My dad, my sister and I are going to Disney World in 16 days. I have an app on my phone that counts the days in a mickey head. My last trip was for my sister's 30th birthday 5 years ago. She and our dad have done some trips without me (sulk) so there are a bunch of new things I haven't seen yet.
I am especially excited to see the new Fantasyland. We got dinner reservations for Be Our Guest (with a little help from a cousin/cast member), and tickets to the Christmas party, which none of us have done before. We are staying at Art of Animation in a Nemo family suite. I've been watching
youtube videos of the podcasts, and other Disney info obsessively, even though this is easily my 20th trip, and the podcast review of the resort is encouraging. My sister sent me a snapchat of our magic bands that came in the mail, and since that day I've been chomping at the bit (I live in Boston, she and our dad still live in Buffalo).
Besides the new stuff, I really cant wait to ride the People Mover, which is one of my all time favorite things to do at the Magic Kingdom. It's just so chill and is a great place to just take it all in and really enjoy being at the Magic Kingdom while being above the hustle and bustle of the crowds. That and the Monorail, especially into EPCOT.
We are also doing a day at Universal, mostly for Harry Potter (my user name is my Roller Derby nickname. My sister's derby name is HerHeiny Grainger, so you can see she is a bit obsessed)
Any other changes in the last 5 years that I should check out?
