How many miles do you walk each day in Disney?

Hi everyone!

I'm starting a walking regimine for my upcoming trip and went back to view my activity data taken from my Apple Watch on my last trip to see how much I walked... anywhere from 8-13 miles each day! :tiptoe:

To be fair we were total park warriors and we ended up zig zagging a lot. I'm trying to be more methodical with my plans this year.

So this had me thinking, does anyone else have data for how much you walk at Disney?

We were just there last week and I had my fit bit on. I am always amazed that people say they walk that many miles - they must be touring commandos. It really depends on which park you are in and if you are methodical. We did about 6 miles the day we were at EPCOT (and that was going back and forth to the Beach club to check into our room before returning for dinner) but only about 3-4 miles the day we were in Magic Kingdom. Didn't check on the Animal kingdom day. It really all depends on your touring style and how many breaks you take.

My data from my last 3 trips from my iwatch:

June 8 - 7.72 miles (15, 650 steps)
June 9 - 8.97 miles (18,465 steps)
June 10 - 8.41 miles (16,924 steps)
June 11 - 7.46 miles (15,202 steps)

Aug. 26 - 8.51 miles (16,977 steps)
Aug. 27 - 9.29 miles (18,673 steps)
Aug. 28 - 8.88 miles (17,762 steps)

Feb. 23 - 12.86 miles (25,704 steps)
Feb. 24 - 8.42 miles (16,898 steps)
Feb. 25 - 18.80 miles (35,245 steps) -- was the Run Disney 10K so 6 miles were with that!

I think it also depends on if you take breaks.... Our MK break day we did 5-6 miles, MK no break 10 miles, epcot/hs no break 15 miles, epcot break 5 miles...AK/Ep break each day was about 8 miles...hope this helps

Last trip staying BLT, 133,000 steps over a 6 day stay (includes arrival and departure days), worked out to about 10 miles per day. However, it does not feel like you walked 10 miles. You get breaks at attractions, meals and our afternoon break. I had no problems and I'm north of middle age (but in pretty good shape).

I don't want to know... :teeth:

I'm very physically fit, so it's a great workout, but it's a lot of walking for sure.

We usually do about 8-11 miles each day at the parks. That includes usually a 3-4 hour break in the middle of the day before park hopping

I don't have any data, but it's lots and lots and lots. Wrench in the works this year-I have a pinched femoral nerve in my back which makes the top of my right leg go numb when I stand for long periods of time or walk for long periods of time, a.k.a a WDW vacation. I'm in physical therapy for it now, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. Should be an interesting trip.

I"m a local and we average about 5 miles per 3-4 hours in the park. stopping for table service at a resort on the way to the park will add about 1.5 more miles to the count. park hopping adds about 2 miles (so about 10 miles for 2 parks, a few hours in each park).

The average MK ticketed event is an easy 8-12 miles and we dont' arrive until 7pmish. so much extra zig zagging for those.

We go slow....go back to the resort for a break everyday.

Usual is about 6-8......if we go to 2 parks and stay longer it goes up to 12. I think that is the most I have tracked. Might have been more when we were younger ;)

I just went to Disney World for the first time and wanted to make sure I saw everything. In my full four days I did 9.2, 10.7, 11.8 and 11.8 miles. I was doing some crazy park hopping utilizing the new express shuttle and took no breaks. It was awesome but I was dead by the time I got back to my hotel.

According to the fitbit I was wearing in Nov/Dec 2015 I was averaging more than 6 miles per day. I had built up to it with daily walks of more than 4 miles each.

Last December we went from the airport to MK for MVMCP and did almost 7 miles that day. So maybe 5 or so miles in the park that night in just a couple hours?

Around 7miles per day last trip, and we only did rope drop until about 5pm.

We did anywhere from 8 to 15 miles a day but it definitely depends on how much backtracking you do.

On our most recent trip, we did 6-8 miles per day (no parkhopping). Our party has some mobility concerns, so I'm careful to craft our touring plans to purposefully reduce walking distances/criss-crossing the park, though.
