How many meals do you pay for OOP when on the dining plan?

We paid for zero. It's a ton of food anyway. One early lunch and a dinner covers all the food we need.

Ditto. Although last year, the snack options were much more limited than they are now. We did pay OOP everyday for certain snacks...pastries in Epcot, smoothies, dole whips, etc. This year, it seems as though most of those are included!! :cheer2:

I spent a grand total of $3 OOP, and that was for a 1/2 gallon container of milk before I realized that I could get a quart of milk as a snack credit (if I had wanted to). We had a full 9 days (8 nights, but checked in early am and left WDW at 6 pm). There was PLENTY of food on the plan. We were 2 adults (well, if you really call a 15 year old an adult), no children...so no funny stuff with credits.

We basically did a TS dinner each day, shared some CS lunches, and had plenty of snack/CS credits for breakfasts.

I looked at the menus on all ears, saw the price ranges, and figured which TS in the long run would be cheapest, we will pay for that meal out of pocket. We have a ressie at CG, which will use the two credits. I like a meal around 11-1130, so that will be our CS meal, and snacks. we arrive late afternoon the first day, and will have those CS's to use as well. :)

In February it will be all adults and we're doing the dining plan for the first time. We're staying 5 nights and eating at 2 signature restaurants (CG & YS) one Epcot WS restaurant. So we're paying OOP for one meal at that's at Victoria & Alberts which would be OOP anyway. I've got $50 in Rainforest Cafe gift certificates right now and will have at least one more before we go, so that's a freebie. We'll probably spend some snack credits for breakfast most days but may pay OOP for a TS breakfast a couple days. Counter service credits for lunches.

We've done it twice now. Jan. 05 and Sept. 05. I only paid OOP for my DD6 meal at CG since she wasn't going to have appetizer, entree, AND dessert. Other than that, we didn't pay for any meals. We usually eat our breakfast in the room-bagels, cereal, fruit, pop tarts, etc.

.

I didn't know you can get a quart of milk as a snack credit. Do you know if you can get a quart of 2% or skim milk ast CSR?
Thanks

We(teen son and I) used the plan in April 2005 and will use it again in February.

Once again I will be paying OOP for quiet a few meals. We like to have a hot breakfast most mornings while on vacation. Instead of using CS credit on breakfast, I just pay OOP.

I'll also be paying for snacks that aren't included with the plan. I'm planning to budget about $30 per day for breakfast/snacks for the two of us.

We will be paying OOP for 2 meals. One because we are doing a TS on the day we arrive and the other because I refuse to eat CS on Christmas day. Therefore, we are eating 2 TS on Christmas.

We typically only pay OOP for our alcoholic beverages. :teeth:

Or if we plan on using a 2 TS credit such as this year with HDR.

When we used the dining plan last Sept we didn't pay for any meals OOP, but did buy a few extra snacks and drinks that were not included on the DDP.

This past May I think we paid for one breakfast OOP.

However, in Sept we are paying for seven meals OOP (L-Sci Fi, B- Chef Mickey's, B- Konas, D- Hoop de Doo, B- Rainforest Cafe, D-'Ohannas, and B- Doanld's).
YOU SOUND LIKE US!! WE (THE WHOLE FAMILY) ARE SPOILED. WE USUALLY STAY A WEEK AND ALL HAVE OUT FAVORITES. THIS TRIP WE ARE ONLY THERE FOR FOUR DAYS THEN WE ARE OFF FOR A FOUR NIGHT CRUISE. WE LIKE DONALDS, CHEF MICKEYS, OHANAS,CINDERELLAS ROYAL TABLE, AND THE AWESOME CALIFORNIA GRILL. TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WE HAVE TWO 2TS MEALS WE WILL BE SPENDING MONEY OUT OF POCKET WHICH I HAVE NOT SAT DOWN TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I AM PAYNG FOR AND SO ON. ALSO SOMETIMES IT IS JUST TO SEE THE CHILDREN HAVING FUN ALONG WITH A GREAT MEAL. TYPICALLY WE HAVE TO PAY FOR A COUPLE. (WE DONT MIND) IT IS STILL CHEAPER THAN IF WE DIDNT HAVE THE MEAL PLAN AT ALL AND ATE AT THE SAME PLACES. PERSONALLY, I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE CALIFORNIA GRILL.

you may want to consider the possibility of splitting one TS meal with 2 people. For my upcoming trip, I have 3 signature restaurants on my list, but I am spliting the meal with my DH for 2 of them. Knowing how much DH and I eat, we'll be rolling on the floor in pain with 2 TS meals!! :bitelip: It is always possible to order an extra appetizer/entree if there is not enough food too.
HAVE YOU DONE THIS BEFORE? WE HAVE NEVER ASKED..BUT WASTED FOOD BECAUSE WE CAN NEVER EAT ALL OF IT. WHEN WE EAT OUT AT HOME..MY HUSBAND AND I SHARE OR SOMETIMES I SHARE WITH MY SON. THIS WOULD BE MUSIC TO MY EARS. I KNOW YOU COULDNT ON A BUFFET BUT ON THE OTHER MEALS I WOULD BE INTERESTED.

I'm a Disney Vet but a DVC member so this is my first time trying the plan. I am going for 5 days on a grown up trip with my sister and the only meal I plan to pay OOP is my Cobb salad at the Brown Derby. I am not about to pay 2TS credits for that! We're staying at the BWV and will probably toddle over to the Hess to pick up some beverages and very basic breakfast stuff. We aren't likely to be bothered sharing meals although we aren't above trying food off each other's plates - lol. It should be interesting as I am one to try to maximize value and she could care less about that, and I wonder if we will even use all of our credits!
