How many hours of video do you take at Disney?

I got a new camcorder (hey did anyone see me on the Ellen show on the looky loo? She really sent me a camcorder!) Anyway I had to buy new tapes to record on and I am bringing two of them which should yield 4 hours of video .. we are staying for 10 days .. I won't take more than 4 hours of video right? I just don't want to run out of tape while we're down there ...

My husband took about 6 hours of tape during our last trip. We were on the Magic for 7 nights, then WDW for 4 nights.

I definately would bring a few more, just in case! I mean you are talking about rides, shows, fireworks, parades!! There's just so much to tape!!

Bring more tape!!! DFi were only there for 3 days and we went through 2 full tapes. And yes, in those bleak times I have no trip planned or in the happy times when I can't wait for a trip, I bust out the tapes and watch every minute of them. You won't be sorry that you have them. :)

Get an Extra Battery too! There'd be nothing worse than being in the middle of taping a fireworks show or something else and have the battery go dead.

I wish I had taken more! I would turn it on for 5-10 min at a time and somehow only ended up with 1 hour for a 7 day trip! It was a great overview and gives me my Disney fix but I want more.

Think about your viewing style, do you want to watch hours of shows? parades? rides?
Consider runnning 2 tapes, one for all the daily family stuff, character interaction, meals, rides etc... and then another of just the longer things like the shows and parades where you are staying in one position. (unless of course you have figured out how to edit, unlike me! :rotfl: )
I have one tape of Beauty and Beast and Cinderellabration that DD watches alot.

hehe - my last trip....16 hours of tape :) And I didn't tape inside any rides or shows (except Indiana Jones)...wow... I had to bring 3 batteries, and that worked perfectly

The first year we had a camcorder, my poor DH taped so much that he doubts he saw very much that wasn't thru a lens! That was a few years ago and we still haven't viewed all of it. If you tape TOO much, you'll wind up fast forwarding at viewing time. Don't try to tape entire parades, etc.
