We live in WA and just got back from 5 days in the parks last week. We had a blast and I am itching to plan another trip. We are considering going in Dec. but I am getting so much flack from friends and family about going more than once in a year. Does anyone else? I know I shouldn't care but I do. :guilty: We are trying to figure out budget and everything but is twice in a calendar year too much when you have to fly in? For us it will be twice in about 6 months.

It all depends on your familys budget. If you are able to do so I see no issue with it. However I myself am always trying to plan another trip...it's almost a sickness lol But honestly only you know how paying for another trip affects your family so you have to make that decision. And if it can be done and is something your family wishes to do, dont let others ruin it. Some just dont understand that disney magic :)

Ummm.... who cares what your friends and family think? It's your family, your budget, your fun, your vacations, your life. If you had fun, miss it, want to go again, and can afford it, go!

Just saying...
Dreams :wizard:
(Who had everyone on earth ask why DH and I would pick WDW of all places to go for our 10 year wedding anniversary since we have no kids, and didn't care what any of them said!)

I live in Northern CA and went 3 times last year, will be going twice this year (but I also went to WDW in Feb.) Don't let others influence you, if that's what you enjoy doing, then by all means do it!! It's like the saying goes, "For those who get Disney, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't get it, no explanation will do".

I am 19 and my boyfriend is 21. We have a very limited budget but we skip out on eating at restaurants and crap like that, and we plan more trips to CA. It isn't that hard since we live in AZ, but we get a load of crap for it. I don't care, it's how we like to spend our time and money! We went in November of '08, again in March of '09, we went to SFMM in April, and now we're going in may to DLR for 5 for 3 days. We are planning on a weekend in june or july, another one with my family, and a couple random weekends throughout the year. So, go ahead, plan that next vacation and do what makes you and your family happy! :yay:

We have gone twice this year so far, with 2 more trips planned for sure, and possible a third! :thumbsup2

Well first off, if you're going more than once a year get an AP!!! It pays for itself so fast!!!

That said I don't consider us local at all but we go many many times in a year and you know what, we don't care what people think. It is our money, we have food on our table, clothes on our backs and if we want to go to DL 14 times in one year then by goodness we will! LOL (by goodness...I never say that lol) Just go and have fun!! Who cares what others say?

I'm in Northern Ca, as a kid, we went at least once a year and then in middle school and high school it was more like 3 to 4 times a year...we were a total Disney family and had the means.

Then I marry a guy that thinks Disney is for kids...oh okay I can live with that...or so I thought. We just got back from our first trip in 3 years and to say I was excited is an understatement. I tried not to show my disappointment coming home. LOL Now we have 2 kids and DH thinks DL is pretty cool...in fact he's starting to look in APs. OMG, I think I may have died and gone to heaven. :rotfl:

We live in mendocino county northern California over 6 hours away.
This year I have gone once in April and have 3 more trips planned so far LOL
I'll go more if I can squeeze them in. I say why not, we just won't go to the beach this year and skip a few movies and dinners out. :cool1:
There's no place I would rather be :) plus I have to get my $ out of our AP's!

Check out the location, check out the signature. This is our second year of having APs.

We don't tell friends or family anymore.:upsidedow

Once a year...it costs too much to think otherwise. Probably will not go next year as the wife wants to head east.

if we were able to go as many times in a year ... i couldnt care less what my friends think at all
they have the option like everyone to go if they wanted ... its just some of us have the drive and the know how to actually get it sorted huh ? :thumbsup2

If it's in your finances, there's no such thing as too many disney trips. That said, we live in WA too and love disney. We've had APs from 2005-2008. We didn't renew in 2008 because we headed east to WDW. We're now planning our summer trip back to DL and are planning on upgrading to APs again so we can come back the following summer and possibly in the spring as well. We once did 3 DL trips in one calendar year(2007), Feb, July and Oct. :yay:

I get flack for going ONCE a year. So this year due to circumstances beyond my control, (yeah right) :lmao: we are getting ready for our third trip in 10 months. I get tired of the "You're going to Disneyland AGAIN?" looks but it is certainly easy to let them roll off. We've been fortunate that we can afford it this year. We may have let some things go around the house like replacing some carpet or finishing our basement, but the kids are only young once and the house can wait! :lovestruc

Oh and we are not local. We are a 2 hours plane ride or a 14 hour car trip. Worth every minute!

I go several times a year, but unless it's a "big" trip (ie: for my birthday or the holidays), I stay with friends or family.

I say, if you've got the $, go for it :thumbsup2

We've already been twice this year! I'm just beginning to plan a 3rd trip for Sept. and we're headed to WDW in early Oct. We just might make a early Dec. visit to DLR ~ and probably a late April 2010 visit! This is our 2nd year having APs ~ 1st year we made a total of 3 trips on our APs! I didn't tell many people about our most recent trip, most of our family and friends don't get it. I purchase a $50 gift card each pay day to help me budget. I could drive, haven't yet though, I never pay more than $69 to fly each way and since I only need to purchase airfare for 3 it's not too bad. The kids and I drove up to Seattle last Oct. and Anaheim is closer to us than Seattle so if I need to drive that would be alright.

We will be going down for the third time with 12 months. July 08, Jan 09, June 09. Other times we have gone a year or two in between. But with all the new changes coming up, I know I can't wait more than a year!

Those of you driving down from N. Cal:

Do you make any quick weekend trips? And if so, how? It takes us 8 hours so that is pretty much all day. And then a day driving back home. So that's two days taken up right there with driving. (Although, if we left early in the morning we could get there by afternoon and have a half day there). I'm just curious how you plan a quick trip. :)

We live in Northern CA and usually drive once per year. This year we have annual passes so we will be making the trip 4 times. We are coming up on trip #2 in a couple of months.

We go to bed early on Friday night, get up super early Saturday morning and drive down to Anaheim (6 hrs for us), we go straight to the parks and then check into our hotel around 3 or 4, take a little nap and back in the parks by 7, grab a dinner on the go (CS not TS) and then stay until closing. Sunday we get up and hit the parks, stay until sometime in the afternoon and drive home. That's it, that's how we do it. Crazy? Yes, but tons of fun!! And we are exhausted the following week but it's soooooooo worth it. LOL

I live in Boise, ID and I went in January with my side of the family to WDW. Then in March we took our daughter, son in law and three grandkiddies to DL. In November I will be going to DL for my BF birthday. I have to admit that this is an unusual amount of Disney trips for us, but I wish I could do it every year!
