Not including family, DH really is my best friend (corny ). Not counting DH I only have 5 friends, 4 women and 1 man. These are friends that I miss when we're apart, but we can pick up conversations like we talk all the time.

How many friends do you have? I feel like my number is sadly low.

Real friends? I'll go with 10 "good" friends probably split 50/50 male/female.. One best friend who've known since birth.. Then my husband fits some place in there.. :rolleyes1

I have 10-15 friends that are "crap, I have an emergency in the middle of the night, I need help now" close enough that I could count on.

Then, I have at least another 20-30 people that I would consider "friends." Some closer than others.... but definitely more than just casual aquiantances.

I am a VERY outgoing person.

I'm very grateful to say I have a wonderful group of friends, were all friends with each other and hang out together a lot. At 35 that says a lot, I don't think most people my age have such a good community of people around them.

There are about 6 of us in the core group, plus one who is now teaching in Mongolia (another story!), 2 are a married couple, plus me and 3 other single women. We all live fairly close to each other, too. So thankful for that. When my boyfriend and I broke up, I called two of them, and they were over at my place within the hour. I couldn't imagine my life without them. Quality not quantity. But I'm very very grateful.

Not including family (I am very close to my parents) but my husband is really my one and only best friend. The same goes for him. We are both rather introverted and like it that way. We are friendly! We can be social, but we prefer to keep to ourselves. I have a 4 or 5 people I consider to be friends, but I really only talk to them occasionally since we moved out-of-state. I really don't feel much of a need to be really close to anyone but my husband, our children, and my parents. :)

Other than my husband ... none. I'm very shy, have social anxieties, always been the wallflower. Seen, but not heard.

5 or 6 close friends that I talk to regularly. Maybe 10-12 others that I would call a friend but not close. My DH is probably my best friend as well, we are super close and talk about everything. I do have a girl best friend and we are very close, have been friends over 20 yrs but I would still say I am closer with my hubby. :lovestruc

Honestly, not nearly as many as I used to. After I divorced and was raising two children on my own, I just didn't have time between work and the craziness of single parenthood. My children's school and sports activities dominated all of my free time. I can't fault my friends - they tried to keep in touch. They would ask me out, but I just didn't have the desire to go out, and I never had time to talk on the phone. Now fast forward 15 years - my son is in college, and my daughter isn't far behind. I'm starting to understand what empty nest syndrome is like, but now all of my friends are busy with their own lives and families. I have no one to blame but myself. If I had it to do over, I would force myself to let my friends into my life, no matter how busy, stressed, or depressed I became! I just forgot how important friends can be!

Not including spouse or family I have 2 BFF, one in town, one over 1000 miles away. I ve known one 30+, the other 20+ yrs. I talk to them the most and spend time with the one alot shopping. ( our hobby!)

I also have 2 very good friends that I only see occasionally when the 3 of us get together for a lunch/drink date or maybe a picnic/b-day party.

I spend alot of time with my sister doing stuff and I have a cousin I love seeing, too.

In the case of my husband and I, we lost so many "friends to divorce". I can count 8 couples right now, more if I really thought hard.

I have a few friends who I would trust with my life. They have been friends since elementary school (I am in my mid-30's).

    I have a few acquaintances.

I do not need to surround myself with people. While I enjoy being around people once in a while, I am content with my family.

    Besides my husband and family:

I have two ladies that only get to see once a year and they are my gold and my backbone.

I have a close-knit group of 15 women that would help me hide a body if I asked. We are spread out a bit over the globe, but Facebook keeps us together like glue.

I have my best friend that I've had since kindergarten. She was my matron of honor and we still talk a few times a month even though she lives five states away. I was one of the first people outside of her immediate family that she called when her husband unexpectedly passed away.

This is like us as well. I find it hard to maintain friendships because I never feel like talking on the phone and I really don't like to go out. I'd rather just sit at home with my family. I'm boring that way;) We are very friendly and can socialize as well we just choose not to.
