How many fast passes can you get in a busy summer day?

Trying to plan our days at Disneyland...we arrive at 10:30am on a Wednesday, I know if we get a fast pass at 11:00 we can get another once that time is come or 2 hours...so just saying our fast pass times are all beyond 2 hours, and we get one at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00...are there any rides that will have fast passes beyond those hours into the evening? If we stay until midnight, can we technically get fast passes at 7/9?

There are usually fast passes still available for thing Like Big Thunder and Goofy's Sky School till the bitter end...so theoretically if you plan it right you could get a FP for every two hours you are that the park...and more if there is shorter return windows.

I get multiple FPs for Buzz throughout the day. But that's not a high-traffic ride. If I were a Space Mountain junkie, I'd be able to pull far fewer FPs. In short, what I mean is that the number of FPs you get depend on which rides you're getting them for.

Great! That's what I was trying to figure out, we haven't been in 19 years, our kids are all grown 18-22, so we want to hit every ride, but there are a couple that we'd like to ride more than once (Star Tours/Guardians), so trying to figure out if we should make those our first FP at the park and hope to get another one then save the less in demand ones for later. Thanks!! I had read somewhere that some rides run out of FPes by 3:00...so I wanted to double check! We are so limited on days and have never been to WDW/DL in peak summer months, so we're a little panicked! We're used to walking on Splash mountain at WDW, and running back through and hopping back on...sigh

Oh, and I heard Space Mountain will be closing for refurbs but can't find an official date, we'll be there August 2-4...so not sure if we'll get to ride it?

What you want to do is grab FPs with the least amount of wait time first especially if you are there at park open then grab your headliner as soon as the first one opens so that you don't have two hours to kill before your next FP. First thing in the morning your FP window will open up fairly early on rides that are not as popular.

Though there aren't any listings for SM's rehab dates, I can't imagine it closing during summer months. Generally, in the past, it has closed for a few days in mid-September to switch over to Ghost Galaxy...that would be most likely.

Good passes, maybe like 3 or 4 if your fourth one is Screamin, they normally have passes left for a while..

But technically you can get a pass every two hours, but the good rides will run out by mid day..

Depends on if this new immediate return system sticks around. We were holding 3 FP at a time this past week because the return times were immediate (and the rides close enough together to be able to make all 3 return times). I'd say on average we held 7-10 a day.

That said, I would still start with pulling headlines first to accomplish this - Space in DL and GotG in DCA. We pulled RSR before lunch, so the 2 hr window didn't bother us - and it gave us a nighttime ride. I would however continue to check the return times because that ride does fluctuate on when they run out.
