How many DVC members are from the western half of the U.S.?

I'm tripping out on how many DL locals there are.

When we bought last week, my guide said he thought they might be breaking ground for a DL DVC within a few years. We'll see!

Another Sacramento person, here! The original plan was to go to WDW every other year, but since we joined, we've been every year, often twice a year! Added on another 130 points this year, so now I've got plenty of points to keep on going! I'm one of those with an annual pass for WDW and DL! Headed to Disneyland tomorrow for a long weekend, and just got back from WDW two weeks ago!!!

30 minutes east of Disneyland here. Actually bought DVC before even visiting WDW.

Hi neighbor Ken - we bought the same way, sight unseen. I learned just about 95% of what I know about DVC from these boards. The DISers convinced me to buy...and we are glad we did

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person crazy enough to go from WDW to Disneyland within a month! :rotfl2:

Arizona here: The Valley of the Sun! We fly to WDW and drive to Las Vegas.

Anyone need a cactus? :rotfl2:

I am the first from the Portland area to respond. I know there are a few DVCer's around this area.

Another West Coast Oregonian checking in here. We're down the road a bit from you down in Albany (between Salem and Eugene)

West Texas here. We originally bought 150 points, thinking we would go every other year. We added on another 70, and we pretty much go every year. Only 1 year did we not go, the summer we went to Disneyland instead. We love spending our vacation time in Florida

That's how we're going to do it too! It's nice to know we're not the only crazy ones out there! :cool1:

Hello from Elk Grove California :)

ACDSNY...Hello neighbor. What a pleasant surprise that you live so near to us here on the West Coast.

When we first purchased DVC we told ourselves we would only go every other year. So far that has not happened. We've gone at least once a year, sometimes twice. We just booked for January and the entire trip will cost us maybe 3,000.00. That's with a 10 day non expire park hopping ticket. Airfare for 4 of us was only 900.00. We will probably only use 4 day of the ticket for our 12 day trip.

We love our DVC and kick ourselves for not buying sooner :)

Good luck with your decision!

Deb

Kansas here and we have added on 3 times since we first bought in 2000. Have loved every minute. Wish we had more points!!

Your signature line says future DVC. Are you a DVC owner now? If so, WELCOME HOME! :teeth:

I know where Albany is. I was born in Springfield. Small World!

We are a hop...skip...and a jump over the Pacific Ocean DVC Members from Hawaii :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: The only other DVC member I've met here works at the Disney Store.

Thanks and all fixed now. Yep, we bought into VWL at the end of the summer. We haven't made our first trip home yet though.

A big "howdy" to all my west coast neighbors!!! We are from lower Vancouver...that would be WA -- not BC. :)

We love WDW just as much as east coasters, just have to be more creative about how we get there. :goodvibes

Also, many of us have the best of both worlds because we alternate between WDW and DL.

Another DL local here. I have 230 points and want to add on in another year or so. My sister in San Jose will likely be buying in by the end of the year.

I knew you would respond to this thread. How was WDW? DD and I leave soon for DL and the Thomas Kinkade is on our "to purchase list"

Are you still wanting one? if so give me a PM and we can work out the details.

Glad to see you made it back to reality :umbrella:

Guess we are considered West. We're from Oklahoma- go every year or every other year and we love it. Lately been spending time at Vero or Hilton Head because it is an easy trip to take Grandma along to. Disney itself is a little too much for her now. It usually takes us though just about 4-5 hours travel with layovers.

I was just curious because I've read somewhere that it's not worth it to become a DVC member if you live on the west side, and I was just wondering why?

So, how many of you are members who live in the western half of the U.S., and how is your DVC membership working out for you?

We recently bought into SSR. Our first member stay will be in July. We're from CA! :sunny:
