How many DVC folks are getting the special priced PAP? Do most of you buy AP's?

We bought AP's in November for the first time. Wish I had known back when they had the special $399 that I would have a use for them. We usually only go to Disney once in a 12 month period. But, now two of our kids are in college and it is harder to find a time for us all to travel as we can only take time off from work during certain times of the year too. We knew in November that we would go back again in March - hence buying the AP's. We are now going in a couple of weeks with our daughters and plan to buy the PAP's for them. We will be back again in December so they will get two trips out of them. After that we will probably try to go in December or January for the next few years. If it works out that I can plan it to go a week earlier from one year to another I would get AP's again, but if not, I am not going to buy them. Generally speaking one trip a year is enough for us.

We have been doing annual passes for past years. Our luck has been to get two and sometimes 3 trips out of our passes. Kids all out of school. Never did try the PAP passes since not big water park people, regular pools are fine.

Ok next questing if you renew your annual pass does it activate right away? Sorry i am a new dvc member and always only bought room package deals so this is all new to me. Thanks ahead of time.

Our PAPs, from the last special, expired in Jan. DDs and I are going in Aug and then DH will go with us in Aug 2015...so I thought I'd get the new PAP special for DDs and I. I want to buy them now, but logged onto my Disney Visa account to discover that they changed my CC account # and are sending me new cards due to the Target breach. I'll have to wait for the new cards because you need to show the CC you purchased with at will call to pick up PAPs. Booo!!!!! Want to get it all done...order them, link them and select MBs (so all we have to do is wait to make FP+ selections in June).

Yes. A renewal has the same expiration date as the original AP (or PAP), only a year later. Sometimes it makes more sense to simply purchase a new AP, if the timing of the renewal does not work to get several park days in on the renewal.

Also, you have to renew your AP (or PAP) within 30 days before or after the expiration date.

With a late September trip this year and early September next, it is the best deal going for us. We will be buying three.

Thank You Again!!!!!!!:badpc:

We usually purchase AP's and plan our trips accordingly. I haven't renewed any because I usually plan my points and get longer trips 8-10 days. I'm working with 300 points and a family of five... So that also has an effect on the rooms I get, for how long, and when. I did purchase the PAP's for this May!

That's us too! We had 200 points and it wasn't enough for longer stays in a 2 bedroom, so we added another 100. Now we can either stay longer or go during higher point useage time (even if I don't really want to)

OK let me get this straight, are you buying 3 discounted PAP in SEpt 2014 for use in Sept 2015?
You know they need to be activated by Jan 31 2015, which means you loose 8 or 9 months of use before you use them in Sept.

I keep reading that people are buying these tickets and not using till next year, you need to activate them in person by Jan 31, 2015 which means you need to go down to WDW to do that in Jan. What am I missing?

Seems like they plan to activate them late this Sept and then use again next early Sept.

We purchased APs online before the PAP offer was released. Since the price has increased, I see no reason to trade them for the PAP. We'll just hold on to them till next year.

Does anyone know if you can pick them up as exchange vouchers at the gate?

If so, is it better to get the exchange vouchers or get them when you want to activate them? I'm worried I'll lose the vouchers. But at the same time, if my CC # is changed, will they still give me the AP? I still have the order number. :thanks:
