I have bought and sold several to change our ownership interests, Last time was selling a SSR to offset some of the cost of my new VGF points in 2022

I bought 50, then sold it before i even got home from the trip i bought it for.
I added 75 before i went on that ^ trip.
Bought a few more, then transferred points off one, then sold it before I even got the next one.

I'm pretty sure any good deal I got, I wasted the savings on commissions & fees. lol

I was just on dvcforless.com and the thought of selling one to buy another didn't even cross my mind... hmmm.... this could be the way. I already got a $6939 value out of my CCV and I have points coming in 3 months. Off to share this idea with my husband.

I would buy another contract that is loaded. Ive never stayed at CCV so Im not connected to it, I bought it since it was a good value. Now I have to look up tax consequences. Do you have any links you know of off hand to read up on it?

No links... that is stuff I don't want to know. lol

We never said that. Our current justification is now that we moved from the north east to Florida and no longer pay State and Local income tax buy buy buy! We are using these savings to fund our DVC addiction. @tx911 comments the other day on a CCV price has resulted us in bidding on a couple of CCV contracts to see if we can match that price (doubtful). Sadly it was already sold when I read that comment.

I never said that. We only own 345 points. We never had any trouble using our points and a couple of years we discovered the Dolphin because we ran out of points. All our cancelled vacations during the pandemic helped us 'catch up'. Now we have said a few times that we could probably economize and sell a contract but first I want to take a shot at staying at the big places, like the Wilderness Cabins and the Poly Bungalows.

My husband insists on being sensible with money so the only way he'll even engage in conversation about buying the new PVB is if we agree to sell our resale BLT. I, being shamefully less sensible, am glad the direct purchase process moves quickly and secretly hope once we snap up direct PVB I'll be able to convince him 2 bedrooms are far better than 1 bedrooms and that we need ALL the points. Sorry, not sorry. He knew I was like this when he married me, lol.

That is definitely a good idea, to take advantage before even considering selling.!!

I could see the look on his face after I said that He isn't opposed to this idea for monetary reasons, but he thinks it opens up some sort of can of worms with the IRS. So now I have to research it and lay out the facts for him because there is a contract I like on the market. He said "if you want it that bad just buy it" tempting, but no.

Currently in this situation. I just purchased VDH(150) and I already had SSR (200) & AKL (120), all direct. I'm thinking about selling my SSR to help offset the VDH purchase. I'm torn.
