Just curious...how many dogs/cats do you have in your house? Do you have a combination of the two (dogs and cats)? We love dogs and would love to fill our house with rescues but at some point, it can be too many not to mention the cost of supporting all of them.

2 cats 1 dog... my dog could care less about the cats.. the cats HATE the dog.. the boss cat attacks the dog everytime she sees it.. right now she has it cornered in our living room... now the dog as only been here 2.5 wks.. I hope this ends soon.

4 dogs. 0 cats.

We are maxed out. No more room in the bed! The crates are also quite an eyesore but I don't really care.

We currently have two dogs and seven cats in our house. We foster sick animals for our local Humane Society. It is affordable in that they have a clinic so all their medical care is covered. We just have to buy the food since the stuff donated and used by the shelter isn't stuff I like to feed to our animals. I would be weary of rescues and check them out before volunteering. We decided to help foster for a Boston Terrier rescue in our area and it was a nightmare. :( Let's just say it wasn't a surprise that they didn't have very many foster homes...

2 Dogs, 0 Cats, 1 Ferret, and 1 Parrot. Would love a cat but my son is deathly allergic. Maybe another dog soon...:rolleyes1

5 dogs, 4 cats and we have 2 outside we care for

We had 2 cats but added 1 puppy this past Tuesday.

1 German Shepard who is about a year and a half and 1 kitten who is 9 months old. They get along very well. And we have 4 hermit crabs. Which are kept far away from both the kitten and the pup.

Our city has a 3 indoor pet limit (not that they enforce it - I have no idea why laws are created but not enforced) and I refuse to go over that.

We have 2 dogs and 1 cat!

:)

3 dogs, 0 cats. (if you check outside you'll see 5 white rabbits and 4 chickens, too! :))

7 cats, 3 dogs, 1 teenager, 1 brother, and a set of parents! LOL we just combined households with my parents. The 9 goldfish went to live at a friends childcare. Now if we loook outside there are ducks and bunnies too! Oh and the poor kitty the neighbors left behind, so I guess she will become one we feed, too.

We have 3 cats in our home.

I'd have about 3 more if hubby would let me (never gonna happen...LOL)

1 cat 17 yrs old
1 dog 9 yrs old
5 fish named after candy
1 ball python

I used to have another cat and another dog, hamsters and turtles but they are all gone now. I want another dog soon. I love cats but got so allergic during my pregnancy that I can't.

2 dogs....a 12-yo Sheltie, and a 7-yo black lab. I think after these two, we'll just stick to one at a time, but who knows what will happen when that time comes.

4 cats, 1 rabbit

We were up to 5 kitties at one point. I felt that was a bit high.

I think part of your decision should be on physical care, cost of care (routine feeding and vet bills as well as non-routine care), the maintence of your home (shedding fur!!), and the physical space you share with your pets.

And there are also laws to consider as some municipalities limit the number of critters you can own.

We have 3 pups! A 3 year old Yorkie girl, a 2 year old Shorkie (Yorkie and Shi Tzu mix) boy. They had 2 puppies together. We gave one to my cousins and we kept the little boy. He's actually not so little, he's much bigger than his parents and he's just about to turn 1.

No dogs or cats but we have 4 beautiful indoor rescue bunnies. Two of them (the older ones) are sitting quietly in their cages right now but the other two are running around and terrorizing us in our family room. They're still young enough to be considered kids and are still learning their manners! Good thing they can get by on their looks!
