I'd never had a dog before I got my puppy Jake, so my vet, also a family friend told me that when raising puppies it was a bad idea to let them sleep in your bed. Apparently it gives the dog the notion that they are the leader of the pack. So Jake has a very nice bed next to mine.
Truth be told I let Jake sleep with me the first night I had him, but he had no interest in my bed. If he had liked it then he would probably still be thee no matter what the vet said!
