I'll be paying with my target red (debit card, not credit card). My final payment is due next week. Do you think I can buy 25 $50 target cards in one day? I don't want to be declined at the register..lol. Obviously the money is in my account, but I don't know if they have a max or not. I have heard on here about other people getting declined. I don't know what the circumstances were though.

I can't see that there would be a limit, as long as they have that many in the store, that has been my problem, bu t I don't usually buy but 1 or 2 at a time.

I believe people are declined when the transaction goes over the daily limit for the bank debit card. So, I would check with the bank before you made the transaction.

We had a problem with this and Target CS told us it had nothing to do with the money in the bank account - it was the history use of our card and the limits. We had to make several trips to get all of our 30+ cards. But, it was still worth the savings.

Ok. I guess i'll just try it and see what happens. If I can't get that many, can I go back the next day and get some more?

It has nothing to do with the user's bank debit card/account balance -- the Target Debit Card is an external card "attached" to the user's bank account and once the purchase is made, Target immediately begins the process of debiting the account via ACH (which means the bank account is debited for that purchase within 1-2 business days).

If it helps any, I hadn't used my Target debit card all that often and when I was buying the carfds for our trip I was capped at 10, or $500. It was no problem to go back the next day and buy another $500 worth, though.

I have been declined several times trying to buy gift cards with my Target debit card. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how much it approves. Sometimes I can buy $300 worth, sometimes not. I think it has something to do with how many checks you have written there in the past and since I had not written a check there in YEARS the is a mystery limit. lol

I'm still trying to figure out why everyone else's Target gives the 5% off the Disney gift cards with the Target debit card, and ours DOES NOT. It annoys the heck outta me. So instead I go to Sam's, buy them at a discounted rate, and get the Southwest miles. :headache:

Do you wait until you slide your target card and pay? I asked before hand the first time and they didn't know if the disney gift cards would get a discount. Sure enough they were discounted. I found out after I slid my card to pay.
Or maybe try a different target?

You may want to check with Guest services as well as last year we had an issue and were told that the system at Disney is set up not to accept more than 4 cards at one time (fraud prevention). You certainly don't want to get caught with all your cash tied up in those cards when it is your last day to make a payment.

Given that issue, if using cards for a big ticket item like hotels or the like, is it possible to call Guest Services and have the balances consolidated onto one card? Anyone done that?

I don't know if they changed their system but I stood at concierge this weekend and payed our charges with 6 gift cards and they were scanned just like a credit card and the only thing that took time was that the cast member had to tell me if there was anything left on the card. The whole process took less than 5 min and that was with the cast member telling me funny stories about his son the whole time :lmao:

I also booked my reservation over the phone and read off 25 gift cards to the cast member to pay for my package reservation, they thought it was funny.

I am pretty sure the debit card has some type of daily limit. I paid a large amount with my debit card at Target Optical and went grocery shopping in the same SuperTarget. I went to pay for my groceries and the card was declined. I was a bit irritated and the clerk explained that they did have a daily limit to prevent fraud. The dumb part was that I just wrote a check out of the same account for my groceries, but lost out on the 5% savings.

So how much is the card worth? What is the discount? Is this at all Targets? I would pay my trip off this way if its a good discount. Never heard of it...i am outta the loop!

We only use credit cards (pay off, no interest of course). Can you get these Target 5% off with their credit cards also?

I would love to pay off a DCL cruise with these. Lots and lots of these. We will get 2% from AMEX, but 5% would be even better!

My Target sells $50 Disney gift cards. If you pay with your Target Red Card or Target Debit Card, you get 5% off all your purchases at Target, including Disney gift cards.

Yes, I have used my Target Red Card (credit card) and gotten the 5% off the Disney gift card.
