I have done Disney a few times and pretty much have a good idea of how much time is needed to "enjoy" the attractions at each park. (2 days MK, 2 days Epcot, 1 day AK, 1 day MGM......)

How many days are recomended for US and IOA?

It is just myself, DH and our 7 year old son. He (son - not husband:teeth:) is a bit small and would not be going on the "roller coaster" type rides for the most part. He could get into Jurasic Park and other type rides - but not the Hulk type ones, so we wouldn't be spending tons of time waiting for attractions like that.

Thanks - lori

hold it right there!!!! you are telling me that you rode EVERY RIDE and i mean every ride in USF and IOA in 4 hours. I simply do not believe that it is possible :smooth:

I suggest 3-4 days. You can do it in 2 but that is pushing it.

That's because the drop was designed to go from a 50 degree angle to a 40 degree angle mid fall. This gives the rider the sensation that the log is going to tilt over or that they are going to fall out.

I have to admit, while I LOVE rollercoasters, dropping water rides still give me the hibbie-jibbies, especially Ripsaw Falls! Whenever i go on that or JP, I get seriously nervous.

Just wondering and I ask my kids the same question....Just what do you find so "fun" about being scared to death or feel like you are falling out of a ride to begin with? I really love IOA even though I will NEVER go on Hulk or Dueling Dragons or Dr. Doom or especially Ripsaw Falls. I went on Splash Mountain and hated the drop but I decided to go on Jurassic Park....how bad could that drop be? Well, let me tell you. I will never ever go on that one again.....85 feet in the dark and then getting soaked is definately not my idea of fun. I was literally shaking and had to be help off the ride.....I was so embarrassed. It's funny now but then it sure wasn't.......Give me Dr. Seuss any ol time.....:D

Sorry to be a dip, but can i push the issue here and ask for a clarification....

Is the general vote that each park could be comfortably done (not running like idiots, but not moving at a snails pace either) in 1 day? (I.E.: 1 day for US and one day for IOA)

OR

that you would need 2 days for each park?

thanks again -

We have always done 1 park in 1 day.....2 days is definately sufficient for us.

lori,

A couple without young kids could easily do it in 2 days but still not totally take in all the theming, shows, merchants, maybe a nice meal as well as. With a small child they tend to want to spend a considerable amount of time at many sites and attractions that an adult could say okay we saw this were done.

Actually I really enjoy doing these parks at a slow pace if we are able. I love spending over an hour at The Mystic Fountain alone. The Curious George area in Universal is another location that we can spend lots of time at.

That said, I still feel its a personal preference the way we all enjoy touring these parks. Our first trip we spent 3 days. Wasnt enough to satisy my family so next trip we spent 5 days. I know we are NOT the norm since the next trip we stayed 10 days. LOL

If you have the time 3-4 days would in my opinion not be too long. Would you be staying on-site? What time of year will you be there? If so that would help you out a lot in saving some time. Also make sure you visit City Walk.

Have Fun:)

You didn't say when you are going and whether you are staying onsite.
I'll say 3 days, 1 day for each park, and the last to do whatever your DS liked the best. The playground areas at each park are alot of fun, and he'll spend alot of time in them. This way, if he really likes something, you can say you'll come back on your last day. Bring a change of cloths for DS (he'll get soaked), and a book to read for you.

one afternoon MsDis and her two sons, 10 and 8, spent the better part of 3 hours in the ball room in Curious George play area. It is loads of fun for kids and "BIG" kids alike:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Me too. I was collecting those balls into the bag and bringing it upstairs so the kid could reload her gun. 5 more minutes ended up being an hour.

They need a bar there. You see all the adults sitting on the bench. The closest one is far away. Put up some covered canopies, chairs, tables, and waitresses. Bet they'd get alot of business.

Sorry - i guess those things would be good to know......

We are thinking of mid March of 2003 and toying with the idea of camping at FW at Disney. (we have camped there before, love the place and have not heard many good reviews of other area campgrounds - with the exception of tropical palms.)

We are coming off Disney Annual Passes (i.e. - we went to WDW a few times this year and want to see what else Orlando has to offer. I am sure we will be back sometime, but not right away.) and are considering doing the US, IOA and Sea World thing. Not really interested in BG as we like the one in Williamsburgh much better. We were hoping to get all three of those into a 5 day week. (keeping weekends for the drive from/to Philly)

Sounds like a plan.
You'll get to see IOA/USF/SWF in 5 days.
Go with the flex plan for tickets.
Looking at the Osceola Calendar, Orlando kids have spring break starting on the 14th of March ending the 21st. Come the week of the 10th (2nd week) and you'll just have a busy Friday, which you can spend at Wet N' Wild or SWF. You'll probably be done by then anyway.
