How many days for IOA/US?

So, I'm thinking about taking my family back to Orlando over the fall break in late October. We've been to Disney a few times and I was thinking about IOA/US instead for this trip (never been there). We plan on staying at one of the on-site resorts as well.

I'm trying to decide between a 3 or 4-day park ticket, which will factor into whether I take an earlier flight home or not. It looks like 3 days is sufficient to cover everything in the parks. But if I took a later flight home, there would be sufficient time to spend 5-6 hours in the park on the 4th day. Certainly, a 4th day would be great if we're having an awesome time. Also, I would like to spend some time relaxing by the pool in the afternoons. Since Halloween Horror Nights will be going on, I assume the parks will close for that event around 6:30.

So, for those who have been to IOA/US, have your families found the parks entertaining enough for 4 days or does the fun and thrill start to wear off after 3 days?

We always try to stay at least a week. The least amount of time was over night. When staying onsite you can really take your time and relax, no need to rush. We spend a lot of time at the pools and resorts.

Since Halloween Horror Nights will be going on, I assume the parks will close for that event around 6:30.

Last year IOA closed at 7pm but the Studios closes at 5pm on nights when HHN is staged...keep that in mind.

We toured one day for IoA and one day for US and were able to see all that we wanted to using the early entry to WWoHP and the unlimitted express pass as we were staying on site.

I would have enjoyed one more day to be able to enjoy the sights a little more, we were pretty focused on the rides/shows.

I think 3 days would be great

3 days is great - esp if you are onsite and will have early opening and the express access. More days are always a bonus - but I don't think more are needed to be happy with the experience.

I would say plan for a 3 day ticket but still get the later flight out. That way you can take the extra time to relax and still add a forth day on if you want to. If you visit guest services before you leave on your last day you can upgrade your tickets for the small added charge (No extra fees or anything just the added day charge).

Also, I would STRONGLY suggest someone in your party getting an annual pass. Call the hotel to confirm, but you should be able to get an annual pass discount on your hotel which can be up to a 30% discount. The discount for hotel varies on availability and season.

If you get a preferred (the cheaper of the two AP) You will also get 15% discount on multi- day tickets for the rest of your family, 10% off food, and 10% off merchandise. Other info can be viewed on their website.

A preferred annual pass costs $230 +tax. By the time you subtract the $144 for what your ticket would have already cost you will only need $86 in savings to make up for the difference. When you use your AP discount to buy tickets you will save around $20 on each 3-day multi ticket you buy... So by the time you purchase everyone's ticket your ticket has paid for itself and the other discounts are money in your pocket.
