We've been to WDW a lot, but it's been awhile since I've been to DL...California Adventure was not yet built. How many days to you really need to see everything @ both the parks? We'll probably go in the off season...thanks in advance.

for a newbie i would suggest 4 days...2 days for each park...that way you can have 2 days per park, do what you couldnt do the first day and go back to what you liked to begin with and its much simpler to park hop than in wdw:goodvibes

I would say at least 4 days. I doubt you'll still see everything, but you could see almost everything.

I always plan at least three days, but I like to do four or five if I can. Remember, Disneyland and DCA have about the same number of attractions of all four parks at WDW, so it is really hard to only spend a day in each and still see everything, especially if you want to ride some things more than once!

I agree with 4 days...3 is ok if you know the parks like the back of your hand and have a major gameplan and don't mind feeling rushed...4 lets you do your favorites more than once and you can spread out the shows as well...parade, aladin, WOC, F!, and fireworks.

I agree with 4 minimum, Carsland has pushed DCA into a definite need two days. 5 days, even better!

I'm going to say 5. 2 forDCA and 3 for Disneyland. All the shows make you need more time. We did 10 days but still didn't see everything but we did do lots of everything over and over.

I'm going to go with with as many days as you can!!
4 minumum but 5 would be best!!
Hope you have a great time!

Definitely gonna agree with the 4 day, and that you wont see everything but you will see most things. I would add on another day or so for good measure to make sure you don't feel like you missed out on everything and to also do your favorite things one last time.

I think 3-4 days should do it.... That philosophy is pre carsland though... I'll be testing the theory in december.

I agree with 4 minimum. If you go during a really busy time, like Christmas, or if it's more of a once in a lifetime trip, I would suggest 5 days.

Great question! Will Sat-Sat in the summer(2013) be good with a day to go on an OC Beach tour. First timers coming from Pittsburgh, PA pixiedust:

Unless you are disney obsessed...like most of us here, I would say three is fine and 4 if you have an extra day.

I live kinda close to you, so if you are like me, you go to California for more than just the Disney parks, so more than three or four days might be pushing it if you plan to do other things.

I highly recommend spending some time in San Diego. The Zoo, Legoland, Whale charter tours, PetCo park, The USS Midway (awesome), and a ton of other things there make it a must for us.

If you are doing a three day, I would recommend two at DisneyLand, One at DCA. If four, two at each.

Also, keep in mind that some will ask how many days your vacation is and then recommend you spend ALL of them at the DLR. While I admire their passion, this would be a mistake, lots to do and see in SoCal! :thumbsup2

I was there two weeks ago before Carsland madness for 4 days. I never felt bored one second, but had the opportunity to enjoy my favorite rides and shows multiple times.
With Carsland I think 4 days is really the minimum, 5 probably better if you want to do almost everything.

We always plan at least 4 full days (time wise..not 4 full days in a row) so stay at leas 6 days 5/nights. That way we can enjoy the resort. Having said that we stay @ DL or GCA and enjoy the "down" time. If you're staying at a smaller resort or don't need the down time..5 days would be good :thumbsup2
