Hi we r just about to book for 2015! We arrive on eve of 28 oct.
We want to do a mnsshp during our stay but also the Halloween activities at the fort. We were gonna do 7 nights but I'm thinking mayb 9 would be better so we can take it easy and not rush to parks every day and enjoy the fort. We are off to villa after our stay at fort so can pop back to wdw if we missed anything.
I have kids aged 3,5,11,16
Thanks so much really excited

I was going to say 9 to 10 days that way you can do a day at the park and one day off that way so you can enjoy the Fort.
I love stay at least 9 to 10 days as I love fishing... Grandchildren love swimming. We enjoy driving golf cart. Have fun...

Hubby n I were at fort for our first trip in oct 2011 n 7 days just wasn't long enough. Kids are grown and we thought a week might be too long. Wrong.
We had no idea how fun the fort is, or the Halloween decorations, or Halloween
parade or looping with the golf cart and what to expect. We are going back in oct for 10 days w park tickets for only 6 so we can slow down and really enjoy the fort. If you can swing 9 days I would say go for it.

super_camper is right of course.

But you probably want to be around the Fort on 10/30 and 10/31.

Here is the Fort activity sheet from last year (2013). No guarantee the schedule is the same in 2015 but it will give you an idea of why you want to stay around the Fort on those two days.

Look at bama ed....

OP you are onto something before you even make it to FW... We all like your style, needing to stay more nights. It does get darker early that time of year and parks are less crowded.

Our first FW trip was short 7 days ... after the fourth night, I was like crude. we need another at least few more. Just not enough time. Given we drove 2 days down and 2 back, 7 nights really is to short if you have time.

We now shoot for a min of 10 night with more like 12 or 13 night as opt. This gives us plenty of goof off, nap, pool, fishing time. we usually park every other day.. then fill the other days will hanging out. relaxing.

1) Anywhere between 9-nights and 20-nights is just about right for The Fort.
2) Of course, the more the better.

I agree. We have 12 nights booked this November and then 13thnight we are splurging at wilderness lodge
