How many credits do you leave unplanned on DxDDP?

We are doing the deluxe dining plan with most days having a signature dinner around 6 or 7 and either a late breakfast or early lunch (sometimes lunch is at 12:30 though..I think once). How many credits would you leave leftover or unplanned for? We plan to do all table service besides BOG lunch. If we stick with the plan right now, we will have 4 leftover credits for a party of 6 adults. When you do deluxe dining plan, would you leave more leftover to use at counterservice or would you schedule all of your credits?

I wouldn't recommend leaving any credits on DxDDP unused or unplanned unless you don't care about losing the money. I also wouldn't substitute a QS for a TS on that plan. If you cost out the plan(I'll use $100 a day to make it easy), that means 3TS($30 each) and 2S($4 each). If you substitute a QS for a TS, you are leaving about $15+ dollars on the table. My goal when I do any of the dining plans is to save money, not let Disney have it. Also, you need to keep in mind that you may not be able to just walk up to a TS restaurant and get a reservation. Most people on the dining plans are making their table service reservations 180 days in advance.

We don't leave them unplanned, as they're planned to be used at QS places. All of our credits are accounted for ahead of time.

We are also a party of 6 adults who regularly get the DxDP. We like to do what you said, a breakfast and signature dinner or a late lunch and signature dinner. We have an ADR for every credit and never use a QS. I don't particularly like the QS options as I can buy a much better burger/lunch fare from places like the GF cafe or the Wave. Also if its about money, then obviously you'll top out at around $15 for QS while at a sit down it will be closer to $40 so its a much better value. But if its just about convenience, then do whatever makes your group happy. For mine its about taking much needed break from the parks in AC with taking as much or (usually) as little time as we want. Food is also a big deal to us so we usually have to fill up our ADRs just to get all of our favorites. :rotfl:

We've used DxDDp once before, and again last this week when we get there. We are 4 adults are more or less plan most of our trip. I'm a foodie (manage a place in NYC) and when I plan vacation, its about food and relaxing.

We plan most days (breakfast or usually lunch and then a signature dinner…unless we plan a complete pool day then we use the point towards a QS).
((I've found narcoosees to be the best bang for your buck…and its delicious.))

This. I know "when" each credit will be used but there are a couple where the "where" hasn't been established.

Thanks for the feedback. Since we have no counterservice at all in our plans get besides BOG, I think we will use our last 4 credits for counterservice then. Plus, we have 6 in our group so having only 4 leftover makes it difficult to plan where to use them. I figure someone could get hungry between a 10am breakfast and a 7:00pm dinner and want to use a counterservice credit anyway :)

we got the DxDDP last time we were there. We loved the fact that we could do CS or TS interchangeably. We had 3 TS meals planned per day and I felt like that was way too much food and I felt like we were running around to reservations. This time when we go again we are going to get the same plan but just book ADRs for Breakfast and Dinner and leave lunch open for CS or if we feel like we need a break a lot of times we can book an ADR for lunch on the same day. I think leaving lunch open for discussion when we get to the parks that we wont feel as rushed to get to a pre plan ADR
