How many children do you have? How many did you plan on having?

I always wanted 2. When we had DD, Dh was pretty sure we were done, though not 100% sure. Well imagine our surprise positive test a few weeks ago, and how far along we actually were. We are expecting our DS in November. This will be it.

We originally thought we'd have three. Decided after two, that we liked that number.

With my first husband, I only wanted 2. I ended up having 4; 3 girls and a boy before getting divorced. I then met and married my DH who had 5 boys and 1 girl. 8 years ago, we adopted my infant granddaughter. So that makes a total of 11 :crowded:

The plan was 1 child but due to infertility and failed IVF we did not have any children. However, I am very happy with my life. 10 years ago we raised my niece and nephew (they were 8 & 5 at the time) - I truly believe this was God's plan as we could devote all of our energy to them.

We have 3 - DS9, DS8, and DD5. If I were younger I'd love to have two more, but I'm 40 now and DH and I are concerned about trying for a baby at that age. We got married relatively late and had infertility issues so it took a long time to get the 3 we have.

We have one, unplanned but planned; I was 36, so we'd stopped taking any kind of precautions, figuring we'd just let nature take its course. Given my very regular cycles and DH's crazy-busy work schedule (he was a post-doc), I knew pretty much from day 1 that I was pregnant! I had DD when I was 37 and while the 1st six months of pregnancy were a breeze, the last 3 were pretty complicated and I ended up on total bed rest at the end. Delivery was also complicated- I broke my pelvis and ended up with a major infection- so I was in no big hurry to get pregnant again. After 4 years we decided to try again (as I was 40/41) so DD would have a sibling, although I was happy with just having one. Over the next year I became pregnant twice but miscarried early on with both. SO, we have just DD, and are very, very happy. I think ONE was the number meant for me!

We have 2. Wish now I would have had 3, but we started late and I am old and tired. :coffee::coffee::coffee:

We currently have our daughter who is 2 and we are expecting #2 at the end of December. I've always had different ideas about how many children we would like to have. DH and I both grew up in large families so we don't mind the chaos one bit. As for baby #3, we'll see how #2 is first! I will be 27 when this baby is born so we have a bit of time to decide what we would like to do.

Originally we wanted 2 kids, 3 years apart. I desperately wanted a girl.

DS9 was a very high energy child and we both have busy careers. I was happy with 1 child at that point but DH and family pushed for another (and promised it would be an easy child and a girl). I eventually gave in after 6.5 years and DS2 came along. Right after he was born steps were taken to not have any more children because I knew without a doubt I was done. DS2 is the light of our lives, but he is a force of nature. I got "blessed" with two wild, crazy, high energy, stubborn, opinionated and healthy boys but I have reached my limit.

Have 2, but originally wanted 3. However, our first was premature. had multiple birth defects, and ultimately died (at 10 months). OB at the time said I'd never have a full-term pregnancy and the child would probably have the same defects, so we should adopt. Scared the heck out of me, so I switched to a high-risk OB. She helped me give birth to 2 healthy, full-term children, after which we decided not to push our luck any more, thank God for what He gave us, and quit. So we never had a third, but were very Blessed with 2.

I have a DS 10.

For the longest time, I wanted more, but thought I would just stop at one. I felt I loved DS so much that I just couldn't love another child the same and it wouldn't be fair.

It took us 8 long years to convince ourselves we have more love and we can love the same and then we had DD2.

We are done. We don't want more and most probably we wouldn't.

We have 3 girls, were in the planning stages (I guess) of #4 when DH was diagnosed with MS, so we didn't have anymore. Now they are 14, 12 and 8! Somedays I feel bad in a weird way that Dh doesn't have a little boy, he is the last in his family to pass on the name and that sort of "old-fashioned" thinking. But our girls are wonderful and I would not have it any other way!

Planned on 2 and ended up with 6.

I had 2 with ex. Married DH and he had custody of his 2 and then we took in 2. Poor DH had 3 18 year old girls in the house at the same time!

We have two children but DH and I wanted three. Our minds quickly changed after our first pregnancy resulted in twins. We were worried we'd have twins again so we stopped. We are happy with our family of four; it feels right to us.

DH and I both came from large families. He is the youngest of 8. I am the youngest of 9. We never vacationed as young kids, didn't have much in the way of material things (though we were truly blessed in many ways..think of a family like the TV family Waltons lol). We wanted ours to have things. We had one and done. She's the perfect DD and at age 30 just blessed us with our 2nd (and last) grandchild. Not that life isn't grand just the way it is but I do sometimes wish we had one more.

Originally I never thought I'd have kids. I never really liked kids or had an interest in them. Still don't when it comes to most of them :P

I'm now working on cooking number three and I've got DH on the hook for a fourth if I want one. I don't know if I'll risk having four girl though.

Always wanted 2 had my DS13 right after getting married and for almost 6 years I didn't use birth control, I thought I guess this is it. But after getting our new house, alas 3 months later....Surprise DD! pixiedust: I was done after because of my health complications so I did a tubal while my c-section was done. We feel complete and happy with what God planned.
