How many 'Chicago area' DIS'ers have never been to a DIS meet???

If you are anywhere in the Chicago area, WI, IN, IA, MI (just picking on the surrounding states, but all are really welcome) and you have never been to a DIS meet, why not take this opportunity to join in the fun. Obviously you like Disney (you are here) and you like the people here (you are here). Come and join in the fun of a day at The Lion King movie and a meal afterwards, all with some fellow DIS'ers!! Sound like fun?? It is!!!!

Of course I am not a Chicago area Diser, but, how about you all have a meet here in Mesa, during spring training. You know the Cubs train here, about 6 miles from my house. Games are cheap, the weather is Fab-u-lous, and you could get out of town for non-Disney fun (sorry, I know that is really not possible!)

What's a DIS meet? I'm not sure if I have been to one But....if it means getting to meet Dan Murphy, count me in!!!!

If you haven't been to a Chicago area DIS meet, I strongly encourage you to make the effort to come. It's a great group of people and we have lots of fun!

We don't bite....honest we don't!!!! Dan you would be proud of me...usually when I see someone that has Illinois or some sort of Illinois identifier in their profile I try to invite them to a meet and link them to a link if there is an upcoming one. Don't know if my approach is too forward or what but so far no one has shown up....(I do take a shower daily and use deoderant!!!!! ) It must be KimRaye or Dopeygirl that intimidate them or something!!!!!

I've never been to a DIS meet. I really want to come to this one. I was originally supposed to have ds' 5th birthday party on the 18th, but the place where I wanted it is booked up. So If the 18th is the day of choice AND it is not too late in the day, I would like to add my name (and dh and ds and dd) to the list of potential attendees.

Also, what do you guys do? Do you bring pictures?

Our main objective at the meets is to have FUN! Talk lots, laugh loud, enjoy each other. For this meet, we're going to see Lion King first and then off, most likely, to a meal somewhere nearby. We always love to see pictures, so feel free to bring them!

I can vouch for them not biting. I promise they don't. I might, but I'm not able to go to this one.

Really, it's fun and once you get the names it's really easy to talk to people. Or if you are somewhat shy, it's very easy to sit back and listen to everyone. I won't mention names but there are a few that talk alot and getting into the conversation is tricky. lol
Just get something to drink and maybe a camera and you are good to go.
