How many character breakfasts should I plan

Our ds will be 4 when we go. We are not sure how well he will handle the characters. I was thinking to reserve one character breakfast at the start of the week, and then another towards the end of the trip. Is two enough? I have heard of some families doing one every day. What is everyone's experience with the character dining events.

Also, we were thinking about only scheduling two TS meals a couple days. One day our ds will go to both restaurants, and the other day we have 2 TS (breakfast & dinner), we will go to dinner by ourselves. Is this a wise move? I am concerned anymore than 1 TS per day will be plenty for him to handle.

We do one breakfast per vacation. We like to take advantage of early touring at the parks instead of eating a big breakfast. We have done Artist Point with Pooh and Friends (NO LONGER OFFERED!), Chef Mickey's and next, we will go to 1900 Park Faire at the GF.

I usually schedule it for mid-week when we need a sleep-in day. This year, however, I will set one for the last day of our trip at around 11 a.m. We can hit MK early if we choose and then check out the holiday decorations at the GF when breakfast is over.

You know your child best. He will be able to check out the characters at a distance before they approach the table. You'll figure out how receptive he will be just from observing him!

Which ones were you thinking of doing?

Two table service restaurants would be too much for our family. We usually eat a light breakfast in our room, have counter service for lunch and a table service dinner. Portions tend to be rather large!

going in Oct for 9 nights. We have a total of 4 charachter meals planned.
two dinners and two breakfast

Our daughter will turn 13 while eating at Donals's Breakfastosaurus on Oct 12

We had two character breakfasts in an eight day/seven night trip plus one character dinner. It was a pretty good mix for us. We enjoy the breakfast food and schedule a late 10 or 10:30am breakfast so its brunch.

Character Breakfast put a dent in your morning if you are staying at a Disney Resort since you are eating when you could be enjoying an Early Morning Entrance at one of the parks...that is if you are an early morning person.

We typically do one breakfast the other days it is concierge or select items from the resorts snack bar (a lite breakfast typically). Then we just add a character lunch and dinner in too... somewhere during the trip.

Our upcoming trip we have a breakfast and lunch...one is new (CRT) and the other we really like the food and location.

My dd's are 4 & 5. It seems more beneficial to schedule character dinings after being in WDW for a couple of days. It gives them some time to get adjusted to being around the characters. We go every year and it still takes them some time to warm up to the characters!!

We have 3 planned for this trip... did 1 on our last trip, and then 2 the trip before.

My DS will be 4.5 and DD will have just turned 2. We are doing Donald's Breakfastsaurus our first morning there (at AK). We figure it will be a good way to get the kids acclimated to the characters and give them aoppurtunity to see them interact with other kids before they thrust upon them in the parks.

We are doing CRT breakfast and Crystal Palace lunch later in the week.

We were considering to Chef Mickey's and the Crystal Palace. My concern
is that it may just be too much to have 2 TS meals in one day. From what I have heard, I think I may be right. Which is the best character dinner. I have heard wonderful things about most of the breakfasts, but it seems hit and miss for dinner. Any suggestions?

We just got back last night from a week long trip and had 2 character breakfasts. We are glad we did them for the experience, but did not think the money was worth the food (we paid since we used our other TS credits for dinners). It was also a large chunk of our morning time spent mostly waiting for the characters to arrive at our table. Next time we will spend that time riding rides while the crowds are at their lowest levels of the day. We were also very full from the meals (we usually don't eat such "heavy" breakfast foods) and ended up either skipping lunch or eating lunch much later than planned. We still had dinner ADR's, so we tended not to eat too much then.
We ended up having 6 CS meal credits left yesterday, so we went to DTD and ate lunch and even ordered food from Earl of Sandwich to take on the plane.
We also thought it was nice to sit in the airconditioning while the characters came to us instead of having to wait in the heat for their pictures and autographs.

I would def do CP one morning. When my DS's were younger it was one of their favorite things and even now that they are 14 & 15 we still have to do CP once each trip. As for two I would wait and see how DS dealt with the first character meal and if you felt it was worth it. Remember you can always add ADR any time during your trip.

We (DH, DD4 and me)will be there Oct22- Oct 29. So far I have one breakfast: PSB and two dinner:LTT and CP

Here are the character meals we are doing:

Donald's at AK - My niece and I
Princess breakfast - Niece and sister
Crystal Palace - Me and son
LTT- all of us.

I am looking forward to all of them. My niece is happy about getting her Princess breakfast in.
