How many buffets?

Do you try to limit how many buffets or family-style dinners you schedule. I am trying to finalize my dining plans and it seems that I have quite a few off these. I have eaten at Disney before, but I have never tried the buffets (except Biergarten). Are there suggestions for some nice sit down restaurants for a 4 year old?

We love Crystal Palace and the kids LOVE Pooh and Friends. I have heard that the dinner buffet at Boma is to die for.

Boma is great. There are a lot of different things to try and there is also regular food for kids like spaghetti. After or before dinner, you can look at the animals at the resort.

I did not make reservations for any buffets. Not that I don't like them, it is just we are a family of 5, with 3 boys, the youngest is 3. So when the kids out number the parents and a buffet is involved, I just see total Kaos. I know for a fact, I would not get a hot meal. I did one all you can eat, at LTT. Other than that, they are regular full service sit downs.

Sorry, I misread your post and thought you wanted suggestions for good buffets.

As for sit downs with kids, we like San Angel in Mexico, Rose and Crown and Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Alfredos in Epcot is good too as the kids like pasta and sauce and the atmosphere is lively with the signing, napkin twirling, etc. In MGM I like Mama Melroses even though many do not. I found it quiet and the food to be good. Of course, there is the castle too in MK. DS thought that was pretty cool. DD will go for the first time this November.

Enjoy your planning!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I was actually interested in restaurants other than buffets. Sorry for the confusion everyone!

Did you try the castle for breakfast or dinner? We were considering trying the storybrook breakfast, but we weren't sure if our 4 year old boy would enjoy that as well as just going for dinner. I am also interested in more about San Angel. I have heard so many bad reviews for this restaurant, but our son loves tacos and so I thought this might be an option if the food wasn't terrible. He is really not one to sit well at dinner and that is why I am hunting to find spots with just the right atmosphere; and yet, dh & I still want to eat something edible. LOL  Well, thanks again for the input!

we don't really care for buffets( actually i don't hubby loves them but then cries he ate to much  ) we liked wcc because it can be either all you can eat skillet or regular plated meals. i think a 4 yr old would like the pony races also. if he's into cars he might like scifi but the clips might scare him( tame but maybe not to a 4 yr old) and the food is pretty lousy. same with san angel inn. nice setting but food kind of blech.

We did the castle for lunch and dinner once. I didn't feel like doing the Castle 90 day 6am call race LOL. I found the food to be very good and DS got that special drink withthe twisty straw and take home glass. My sister did too - she was 13 at the time.

San Angel was fasinating for the kids. With the volcano in the back and lots to look at. DS sat through the whole thing. It's a bit crowded so he really couldn't go anywhere anyway. He was not the best sitter in restaurants either. He has a quesidilla (sp?) and really liked the chips and salsa that they put out when you are seated. DH and I had the queso fundido and it was excellent. Sis had tacos and said they were good. As long as you don't expect gourmet food, you'll be fine. I thought it was fine food for a theme park. I did not enjoy much of the CS places except for pizza planet (that also has gotten bad reviews, but I think from people expecting a fancy pizza).

Enjoy your planning! Hope this helps somewhat. I would also give Crystal Palace a shot. It's a buffet, but very good and fun with Pooh, Piglet, Tiger and Eyeore.
