How many are switching from July to August because of AP rates

I have reservations for July and I was considering changing my reservations to August because of the AP discounts, but once I ran the numbers it wasn't worth it for me because the fee to change my airfare and the increase in the airfare rate would eat up any AP discount I would get.

I was just curious how many people were switching their reservations to August because of the discounts.

Is it worth the switch? Are the crowds less in August or will they be worse because of the AP discounts and the free dining?

I don't think that you're going to see that much of a difference in crowd sizes. The number of AP holders represents a small portion of total guests on any given day. Plus, it will only be onsite guests who are there for free dining. The number of offsite guests will probably remain the same or even decrease since there are a good number of people who may have switched from offsite plans to onsite packages because of the free dining.

Only you can determine whether it is worth making the switch from July to August. It looks like it won't be of any benefit to you since your flights are set but for someone who is driving to WDW, or someone who's airline is more forgiving with itinerary changes, it could be cheaper to go in August.

We may. We won't be able to go for as long (just a long weekend), but the savings would translate into another long weekend or two throughout the year. Also, since we go for a full week during fall, Christmas, and spring breaks, I don't think the kids would mind all that much.
