How many are already planning for the holidays for this year (2023)?

It's a little early for me, but I do know that I need to start earlier. I stress myself out every year waiting until the last minute-I have to stop doing that to myself(this is pertaining mostly to Christmas)

I am planning to go to bermuda with my daughter for thanksgiving- we both hate that holiday so we are happy to go away for it now that my mom has passed away. I work up until Christmas eve but hoping to catch a flight on Christmas Day somewhere warm until new years.

I am planning only in that I will stock up on Egg Nog as soon as it hits the stores. The stores were sold out about a week before Christmas here.
There is one dairy that brings egg nog out for Easter, hopefully I will find some. They market it as "Easter Egg Nog"

Fairly easy to make...This is our recipe, and we'll never go back to store-bought. We quarter it for the two of us.

Since 2019 I have been trying to plan a trip to WDW and now I sort of think it's a jinx to try so unless the world calms down in a VERY significant way for at least 3 months in a row I am planning on staying put for all holidays.

Instead of spending $ on air travel that seemed unhinged Thanksgiving through Christmas 2022 I am focusing on making home more accommodating. I began to prepare for holidays at home by starting to collect a new china pattern and cutlery, we are up to 30 years and I feel it's time to retire what I liked in the 90's. Also picked up a few lovely tablecloths and matching napkins for my table for Christmas 2023 and Easter.

When the world stops being a runaway train I'll happily jump back on the ride but until then nope, so much nope.

My husband and I are planning to be in Hawaii for Christmas 2023 - I am tired of all the work and being responsible for the rest of the families holiday plans

My family and I are considering booking a trip to Aruba during Christmas. We did WDW this year and we said never again - way too crowded and exhausting. We went to Aruba a couple of years ago and loved it. Flights don't seem to be available to book yet (on United at least. We're not booking Southwest due to the issues they're having right now) but when they are, we're gonna jump on it.

I did that last year, passed on all my old Christmas plates/bowls that sorta thing to one of my future daughter in laws and started collecting a new pattern to freshen things up. I've been enjoying picking up things here & there.

As far as planning? A bit in that we had some travel in mind over the holidays possibly. We have a super busy year ahead and the holidays may be the time we get to come up for air and relax.

Not so much planning, but considering what worked, what didn’t work and how to make next year better.
I keep a Christmas notebook. It includes a "notes for next year" section--what worked, what didn't. I also keep track of what I bought on clearance (so DH doesn't run out and get 20 new strings of lights or whatever).

Since we were away, I couldn't shop the after-Christmas sales this year, but I did order some wrap and to/from labels from Current--I love their stuff, anyway. But, I will need to buy gift boxes next Christmas, especially the big, coat-sized ones.

Christmas has gotten so laid back at my house. My husband's business busy time is around Christmas, he generally works seven days a week from Thanksgiving up until two days before Christmas. So once Christmas rolls around he's exhausted. We never travel at Christmas, some years all the kids (plus more) come home, some years only a couple are home. Holidays are just generally difficult for me, I used to plan every detail and now so much is out of my control, so I try to let go. I decorate and buy gifts. We always have brunch at my parents house and we always order Chinese food for dinner. I've learned to be okay with a lowkey Christmas and am just grateful for whoever I get to spend it with.

Next Christmas we will be heading down to Disney for a trip on Jan 1st for my 50th birthday. That will take up all my holiday planning time.
