My wife and I are bringing our two children (18months and 9 yo) in December. We're planning on 4 or 5 days at Disney and 1 or 2 days at Universal. Is Universal good for small kids or do I need to wait until they're older? How many days do you really need to get a good overview of Universal and IOA? Can I see most of it in 1 day?

You probably don't want to Commando Tour with the little one. Take in the Grinch, Christmas decorations and Macy's parade.
I'd say two days. One at each IOA and USO.
