How long WOULD you wait for the new Forbidden Journey Ride?

I am going to wait until it has been open for a while before I go again. Maybe either early december or jan. 2011. I don't like to wait for rides at all. There is no way I can wait 2 or 3 hours....I would have to pee!

But, I know I will have to go thru the line at least once. I have a feeling the queue is going to awesome, and a big part of the experience for dorks like me! So the fotl might not get it, at least not at first. My plan will probably to get there early early to ride this first.

Of course I will be reading here to see whats the best plan before I go!

The first time i ride it will probably be with my new cast member friends, so i bet we'll all be excited and won't mind the wait, no matter how long it is.

Also, there's always DS and PSP for those lines.

I waited for Soarin' for 3 hours right after it opened and waited for Toy Story for 2 1/2 hours so I would wait up to 3 hours. I usually don't wait on rides because of living here but it can go the other way also. When I was waiting for Toy Story I just told myself that it was good that i lived here so I wouldn't feel like I wasted a day waiting in line. I could always catch the other attractions on another day. Besides what else did I need to be doing that day besides wait in line?

Seeing as I've been on everything else at IOA a couple hundred times there won't be other rides on my to do list so I'd be willing to wait 3-4 hours for this ride for my first time,if I like it a lot on my next visit to ride it I'd wait a max 2 hours,then for a year or so after the ride opens as it's still pretty popular,I'd wait an hour and 15 minutes or so,eventually it would get down to my limit of 30-45 minutes.

I dunno...that's pretty much what a robot arm coaster will be from what I can tell. A much more sophisicated Spidey (and I do love Spidey) but a simulator on steriods nonetheless.

Whether it is a glorified simulator or not makes no difference to me. Toy Story Mania is a 3-D Buzz LightYear but it is still amazingly fun. I love seeing all the old games and being immersed in the theme of the ride. Dinosaur (at AK) has the identical track as Indiana Jones (at Disneyland) and yet I am willing to wait much longer for Indiana than many rides. And I usually just skip Dinosaur. I expect the Forbidden Journey ride to be much more than just the mechanics. I am hoping to be immersed in the effects and the themeing. I am perfectly willing to wait in line for that.

I don't consider Spidey a simulator either. Simulators to me, are stationary and you watch a movie. The simulator vehicle moves up, down left and right, to simulate moving.

Spidey you actually ARE moving and it's as much a real dark ride as anything else, with actual scenes of city streets, etc. It just happens to have 3D screens on parts of the ride.

I think the kuka arm is what is going to make it NOT a simulator. Not only will you be moving along a track through scenes but you will actually be moving up/down/sideways to approach/avoid things.

I can see where Spidey is still somewhat of a simulator since your vehicle, although it moves along a track, does not really plunge several stories.

Yeah, I know it'll have movement, but I guess I'm just a fan of traditional rides (give me a 200 foot face-down plummet on SheiKra any day). It will probably be a fun ride, and I suspect many people will love it (who knows, I love Spidey and this looks to be much more intense so it might even win me over). I guess there really is no other way they can do this to make it so immersive. I'm just a coaster junkie so that's why I look at it with somewhat jaded eyes.

I have been waiting two years, 3 months, and 21 days.

What is a few hours in line? I will wait as long as it takes to ride.

I don't feel this way about many rides (I totally passed on Toy Story my first trip to DHS after it opened) but this is different. Since I read those books for the first time ten years ago I have been waiting for this! I would say I cannot wait, but as long as I know my waiting will eventually pay off, then I can, and I will.

Honestly, with how amazing this ride could potentially be and with us flying all the way over from the UK, I would wait up to 4 hours for it.

I certainly hope they have port-o-potties on the way!!

its not how long I WILL wait,, but how long I CAN wait.......longer than 90 minutes, I'd be pretty uncomfy after that wondering if I could even enjoy the ride.

the longest we have ever waited on a ride line was 80 minutes & that was only because we had nothing else to do , unless we wanted to sit on a park bench, while wating for dining reservations.

we have usually gone in slower times, so walk past a LOT of the queue stuff. I sometimes have to slow the group down so I can show them the cool stuff they pass up ( like putting your hands on that box thingy in the mummy)
we only went through the dragons long queue twice fast walking //////it was so dead, & missed a lot of stuff ( now with an ECV they bypassed us since).

I really love some of those queues!!

Early in the vacation or early in the morning, no more than 15 minutes. Later in vacation, maybe 45 minutes. But, of course, if the kids insist, I'll wait forever...standing in line at USF with my kids is better than any day at work.

Yes, we have the best family fights...umm I mean family time together when we wait in long lines

To be perfectly honest, for any Parry Hotter ride, I would WAIT until there is FOTL.

parry hotter is not the drawing card for me at UO.


there are very few rides that i would wait any lengthy amount of time.


I think the longest i waited for a new ride to open was Shrek.
that was 45 minutes.

i usually just come back later in the day or another day i am down there for a less wait in line.

I've never seen a Mummy movie and Mummy is still my one of my top two rides at the park. I really hope that you guys who aren't fans will enjoy the new additions.

Just for fun....sparked by all the HP threads....I was wondering how long would you consider waiting for the new HP ride. Let's assume No FOTL access.

I know I want to get on this ride and I can't wait to explore this new land, so I would say that I would wait three hours.

I would not wait that long for the Hippogriff ride or the Dueling Dragons...and I haven't been on either before. I think I would wait 1 hour for those, but I hope FOTL access is on them.

Well, THE FIRST TIME, I would wait however long I needed to.
For example, I am going down to Orlando early March. I don't have much hope that it will open ( in fact, I think it's pretty much impossible, but who knows... ), but IF IT IS, I will be willing to check out the place and wait most of the day to ride this thing!!!

After that, no matter how good it is, no more than an hour.

Hopefully the line will be set up where you can do a bathroom run. I had to do that when we waited nearly three hours for Rip Ride Rockit (long story...breakdown and weather). That queue is fairly easy to get back into but if Harry is indoors it might not be as simple.

since i live within 30 minutes, i would get there early and hope the que has a lot of good themeing as i progress towards the actual ride. I would wiat up to 2 hours for the first time, after that i would ride when a good opportunity presents itself.
