How long will it take for us to get all of this done?

I've had to tweak my plans b/c of a later entry time on the Friday that we'll be there. So here's my new plan, but I need to figure out what time we'll be done with Fantasyland based on what we're doing. We're using early entry on Thursday, June 24th. We can get there early to get a good spot in line. Here's what I have planned:

Peter Pan
Dumbo
Alice In Wonderland
Matterhorn (okay for a 2 1/2 old-she's tall enough, but not sure...)
Carousel
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Snow White
Pinocchio
Storybook Land Boats
Casey Jr. Train
It's a small world
get a FP for Splash or BTMRR

What time will we be done with all of this? We need to do Toontown after this b/c we won't have time to do the Toontown morning thing on that Friday. Can we make it to Toontown opening at 9:00 (basically, can we get all of Fantasyland-minus the teacups between 7 and 9)?

Assuming you arrive at the beginning of MM and are one of the first ones on Peter Pan, you should have no problem doing all of that in 2 hours. Yeah, 2 hours is a good estimate for all of those rides.

As far as the Mattahorn goes it depends on your 2 1/2 year old. When my daughter was that age she wouldn't of ridden it in any way shape of form. She would of been terrified. If yours isn't afraid of rollercoaster type rides then all should be good.
All though there is the height restrictions to look into.

Hey. We're going to be doing our magic morning on Thursday too. You should wear the lime green Mickey heads. I'll have mine on.:)

I think we're doing MM Thursday too! It all depends of DH wants to do MM. If he doesn't DH and I will go Tues. Can't wait!

Where do I get a lime green mickey head? Do I make one myself? What time are you guys planning on getting to the gates beforehand?

I just wanted to make sure you had watched the YouTube videos of some of those rides in particular Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Snow White, and Pinocchio even though they are in Fantasyland they are scary and might freak out your littlest. And Casey Jr and the Storybook boats take basically the same path so unless you really like seeing little buildings one or the other would probably be fine (I would choose Casey Jr, if I was picking). Good luck and I cant wait to hear how your trip goes!

Lime green mickey heads refer to the paint chips for Disney/Behr paint at Home Depot. The actual color is Alien Green. The paint chips are mickey shaped, and people will snag a few and make zipper tags, and that sort of thing, to wear around the park. It's a good way to identify other Dis members, as it's a sort of unofficial mark of the Dis, LOL.

When you say you'll be going to TT, you mean just normal TT, yes? You said youwouldn't have time for MTTMM on another day, so you're just skipping it? Because of course if the day you're talking about for MM is a MTTMM day, TT will open just an hour into your morning (it opens at normal park opening for MTTMM).

OK now that I've confused you....let me throw my experience in here about Fantasyland.

2.5 is tricky. They start having opinions on what is scary and what is creepy around then...when we took DS at 17 months old he was just happy to be with us. A year later it started to change. (3 is when he really got grumpy about things) Alice, Mr Toads, Pin, and Snow White can all be drastically creepy to a little one (and, um, to me). Now, will the 2.5 year old notice? Depends on your 2.5 year old. Just know that you might have to change things up, depending on her reactions.

Is this your FIRST day in the parks? If not, if you have any time, I would have her first rides be in bug's land at DCA. The rides are bright and sunny, and all out entirely in the open. No dark enclosures to wait in (Peter Pan can feel very dark to a little kid, even in the line, even though it's exposed to the outside...same with SW and Pin). Nothing creepy in the ride (no Red Queen, no burning fires, no Captain Hook). The kids can see it all, get burped at by Heimlich, and can really get used to the idea of "wait in line, go on ride, have fun on ride".

Snow and Pin don't really have lines that get horribly long, from my experience (and, I believe, prevailing opinion). So those can be done by the people who have opinions in favor of those rides, at a later time if you think she's going to get scared.

Casey Jr is lots of fun, and all out in the open, as is Dumbo, Teacups, and...well yes the Carrousel of course. Oh and the canal boats, but omg that line is awful, so if you're going on that, catch the line as soon as it opens (it doesn't always/generally open for MM).

Yes Peter Pan must be gone on first (always first), but with a little kidlet, just keep open to the idea that you might need to amuse her, since the line is close and can feel dark (especially in the morning), and she'll have no idea what she's in for. :)

If I read your post right, you want to do all of these during your Magic Morning hour and then the first hour of park opening on Thursday, correct?

If so, be aware that Storybook Boats, Casey Jr., and Small World are not open for MM. Also, you cannot get FP's until the park opens to everyone.

But, as DLR29 says, you should easily get all of that done, IF you are one of the first people into DL and get to Peter Pan quickly. We do it all the time!

You might also look into riding Autopia during that time, if possible, as that line can get long, even with FP.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all the advice with planning. Our little one has done WDW twice and didn't have a problem with any of the rides. I'm not so much worried about the dark rides, just the Matterhorn. What we may do is that I'll take ds on the Matterhorn while dh takes dd on the carousel. Although, it may completely change if you can't ride one in front of the other anymore on the Matterhorn. I don't think that even my ds will want to ride then!

I agree with others who say it can be done in 2 hours. Your plan looks great. :thumbsup2

If it was me:

- I'd move Toady ahead of the Carousel (just after Matterhorn).
- I'd send a runner for BTMRR FPs (It's a quick stroll from Fantasyland) at 8am while the others ride the Carousel again (or take pictures... or get in line for Storybookland).
- This will open a second FP collection opportunity at 9am (for Buzz? Autopia? or whatever).

No Teacups?

I assume you know that Casey, Storybookland & IASW will need to be done from 8-9 since they aren't open during MM. :)

Have a great time at Walt's Park. :hippie:

:)

Bumbershoot! I wish I could go to Disneyland with you.:lovestruc

Yeah like she said, the lmgh's are found at Home Depot--they're free paint chips. You can get them laminated pretty cheap somewhere like office max, then punch them with a hole puncher and string 'em. I know people just use tape too.
