Hi there!

We will be at AK and going to see Hoop De Doo at Wilderness Lodge. About how much time will it take to get there, not renting a car, using their transportation? Just in case, I also better ask about travel time from Poly to the show. (We might be at our hotel for a break from the parks;)

Thank you soooo much!!

Unless I'm mistaken, you'll need to take transportation to a park, no matter what hotel from which you are departing, and then transfer to a bus that goes to the Wilderness Campgrounds. Once at the campgrounds, it a long slow ride through the campground area, and a several block walk to get to the restaurant. You might want to look at taking the boat from MK to the Wilderness Campgrounds since it's dock is much closer to the restaurant than the bus route. I don't think it would be too rediculous to say that it might take close to two hours, 90 minutes easily.

I would take the Bus to MK and then at MK transfer to the Boat to FW.
At a minimum I would allow for 1 hour for travel time but maybe closer to 75-90 minutes.

90 min, give or take.

Just another option from DAK:

(I'd still allow 90 minutes, give or take, to get to the Hoop.)

A. Bus to Wilderness Lodge and take the boat to Ft. Wilderness.

-or-

B. Bus to Ft. Wilderness and take the "Internal Bus" to Pioneer Hall (Settlement Area.)

the resorts don't offer buses to FW anymore? I guess that is thing of the past.

having gone both ways described I would go to MK and take the boat directly to FW. its a 5 min walk from the deck to the HDD :D

Taxi!

Lately, we have been budgeting a few taxi for these exact situations. We might use a taxi one way and WDW transportation the other way. We like and depend on WDW transportation but when it take an hour plus to get from place to place - we give in.

A taxi cannot take guests to the Hoop show (Pioneer Hall.)
The cab can only go to the Outpost area (entrance) of Ft. Wilderness,
and then guests must board an internal bus and ride to the Settlement bus stop,
location of the Hoop.

Likewise, a cab can't take guests to the MK gates and boat dock area.
A cab drops off guests at the TTC and guests then must ferry or monorail to the MK gates.

(An alternate is to have the cab drop you at the Contemporary Resort and then take the 8-10 minute walk to the MK gates area from that resort.)
