How long to Travel between Parks and Resorts?

I'm sure this has already been asked, but how long does it typically take to travel between parks and the various resorts? We're trying to plan for ADRs like Whispering Canyon and wondering how long it would take to go from MGM or AK to POFQ to clean up after spending a day in the park, then to the restaurant...Obviously we'd like to allow enough time and not feel pressured to try and race between locations. After all it is a vacation.

I'm sure their are others who may be able to help narrow it down, but the CM on the phone told me allow an hour to get from your resort to the rests. for dining.

When are you going? Crowds will make a difference I think. Are you talking taking Disney transport, or do you have your own car to use?

To get to MGM plan on roughly 15 minute drive time and AK roughly 20 minute drive time. (This is probably high end drive time)

You didn't mention if you would be driving yourself or using the buses. If using the buses you must take the following into consideration. POFQ shares a bus with POR. POFQ is picked up (and dropped off) first, then hits 4 stops at POR. This will play into the time factor. Also when you are leaving a park to go back to the resort, you need to wait for a bus to arrive at the park. You could get lucky and walk right on a bus or you could be waiting another 15 minutes or so.

We're going to be relying on Disney transportation and not renting a car during this trip. Most of our ADRs are in the parks, but a couple are not so I wanted to make sure we were leaving early enough, or leaving enough time in between.

I'm ready to leave today, I can't imagine what it will be like in a couple of months.

Disney Transportation takes 31-41 minutes between MGM and POFQ and 38-50 minutes between DAK and POFQ. From POFQ to MK 29 - 39 minutes and from MK to Wilderness Lodge allow 26 - 41 minutes. These times are from Unofficial Guide. The smaller number is the average time and includes time for waiting for the bus, traffic, etc. The larger number is the worst case scenario in which you arrive at the bus stop only to see your bus leaving thus you have to wait another 20 minutes or so for another bus and hit every red light, etc.

So if I were planning for a 6 o'clock ADR at Whispering Canyon I would allow 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop, 30 minutes to travel to Magic Kingdom, 30 minutes to travel to Wilderness Lodge via Disney Boat Service from Magic Kingdom and add an additional 10 - 15 minutes to get from the boat dock to the Wilderness Lodge, check in etc. I guess to make sure you get there I would leave your room at 0430 at POFQ for a 6 o'clock ADR at Whispering Canyon.

Seems like a lot of time spent traveling for a meal to me. I guess this is why Unofficial Guide advises renting a car if you are going to be doing a lot of resort to resort traveling for meals.

We are going to be going in June and plan on eating at Whispering Canyon but we will go on a day when we are already at Magic Kingdom and use the 30 minute boat ride from the park to the resort as a rest period.

Hope this helps. By the way, you made mention that this was vacation and you wanted to relax. WDW vacations are by no means relaxing unless you aren't really into seeing a lot of attractions/shows or have a month to take everything in.
