I'm trying to sell two cars a Sienna and a RAm. Right now it's only listed on craigslist. I'm going to list them in our local paper this weekend. Any ideas of online sites to list them for sale? How long does it take before they sell? Never did this before.

I don't know. We have never had any luck selling in the paper, always ended up at the dealer.

Good luck, though! I never thought about Craig's list, but one of my coworkers bought a vehicle on ebay from a state across the country...and it wasn't aything special. That I didn't understand at all!

I just listed my husbands truck on Ebay tonight. Listing fees were steep.. 40.00.

We called the dealer to see what they'd give us, looked in the paper to see what others were selling it for, and then set the price right in the middle of the two. We weren't looking for the best we could do, just didn't want to accept the low-ball dealer price.

The ad went in on Friday and we deposited the cash Monday morning at 11:00.

I told anyone who sounded at ALL iffy that the car had already sold, and DH and a friend took the car to somewhere other than our home to be looked at.

Good luck!:)

Most people sell their vehicles through Auto Trader here. They have different editions for cars, trucks, older cars, boats, etc. They include a photo and a brief paragraph description. Your ad runs until your car sells. It costs about $40 to advertise (I think), we used them four or five years ago. It is a successful and popluar magazine. It was free to the buyer for many years, they recently started charging a dollar for it, but it is well worth the price, you can comparison shop. Do they have Auto Trader outside of CA?

Good luck selling your two cars :)

A few months ago I sold my old car through Auto Trader. It took less than 3 weeks to sell but that was because we had a guy that took up our time to then decide he didn't want it so we had to relist (we had only gotten the cheapest option possible). Once we relisted it was sold within 3 days.
If you advertise in auto trader make sure to get the internet option. That really did it for us :)

Depends on a lot of things-

year, model, options- and price- then of course someone has to WANT it..

I've only sold a few vehicles by private sale, usually it's new enough to trade in and not get taken for a ride...

My K5 would sell right now without much wait, but my passat might not- its all supply and demand...
