How long to lose park reservation?

Does anyone know how long it takes to lose a park reservation after you cancel a Disney package that contains the tickets for those reservations? I see that the Disney Online Help Center says 2 days, but I'm wondering if that is accurate or if anyone has experience with this. I was under the impression it was almost immediate.

It's possible to cancel them yourself. This is what I've always chosen to do.

In many ways, park reservations are linked to tickets, not resort stays so unless you cancelled the entire package (resort and tickets) the system will leave your park reservations in place.

In my case we had a trip booked in August which we decided to move until Jan next year. Even though I moved our resort stay to Jan, my Aug park reservations stayed in place until I cancelled them and rebooked new dates in Jan.
