We're planning on going to Universal Studios on a Monday morning (8/24) leaving from Fairfield Inn Anaheim. What time should we leave? The park opens at 9am and I'm assuming we'd have to exchange our citypass for tickets at the ticket booth. We'd like to be waiting in line to enter the parks by 8:50am.

TIA

Mapquest says 45 minutes, but I'd double that for rush hour in LA so that has you leaving at 7:20am. Counting parking and walking time I'd say 7am or a bit earlier. YMMV

Just wanted to give an update. We went to Universal Studios Hollywood today. We left Fairfield at 7:10am and was parked at USH at 8:24am. The park opened at 9am. We did the studio tour first and was on the 1st tram. We then did the Simpson's ride. It was a 15 minute wait. We then headed to the lower lot and rode the Mummy 3 times back to back with no wait at all. It was a walk on. We then did Jurassic Park twice with a 5 minute wait. And then headed to the play area, where the kids played for a good 90-120 minutes. We rode Simpson's one more time and then had a late lunch at City Walk. We had a really short but fun day there. We left USH at 3:30pm and were back at the hotel by 4:50pm.

We went swimming and are back in the room having just finished pizza and are now getting ready to watch a movie and call it a night. Is it really only 7:50pm? My, we're getting old.

So that was 74 minutes going and 80 minutes returning - not quite double the 45 minutes that Mapquest advised. Thanks for posting the update - that will be useful to others.
