Just a question - how long on average did it take you to get rid of your "sea-legs"?

We returned last Thursday (Mar 3) and I am still feeling the ship! I am on day 5 on land. Not so much in my legs anymore (still a little) but I still feel it in my head. Yesterday I actually walked into a wall (my body decided to try to make it part way through the doorway).

Our trip was not the best and unfortunately I am still paying for it (physically and financially!).

Many guest don't have any problems. Most clear up in a few days. Me, it takes a couple of weeks. After the aug. repo cruise I may be in for a month of feeling weird!

I keep taking bonine for 3 days after we get off the ship to avoid any of that & it has worked both times. :)

It hits me differently each time we cruise. It usually lasts 5-7 days but the last time we cruised it lasted about two weeks. HTH

It usually stays with me about a week, however, this last time we ended up "stranded" in Florida an extra day due to a major snow storm in our area. My DW and I spent our day in Epcot. Once we rode Mission Space, we no longer felt the land move! I think we have to make this a post-cruise tradition, kind of like decompressing from a deep dive.

I would say 5 days is the most.... I always jump in my tub (miss it so!!) the first thing, and I notice it in there the most, feels like I am in the ocean.....

:goodvibes

I didn't even think about this. We are driving back home to Missouri after the cruise. Is that safe or is our driving going to be all messed up?

I was fine immediately after we got off the ship, until a day or so later when I was in the shower and I felt like the house was moving. The DH experienced it for a couple of days afterwards.

Realityfreakaholic, it's not really that bad, you can function. I guess some folks still get a little queasy, if prone to motion sickness. I just tend to notice from time to time that the dry land seems to be rocking when I get off the ship.

The first 2 days were awful. We are are just starting to feel normal again.

It's funny when and where you feel it the most. I am OK when I am driving (because I am moving). It is usually worse when I am sitting my desk, standing or in a small space - but still it is always there. I am still on my perscribed meds that I took for seasickness. If this lasts a month like some of you have said I will go crazy!!

I went to the gym this morning thinking that I could sweat it out on the treadmill, but I just felt worse (although the work out was good to help ease the weight gain from all of the food!).

Please tell the ship to stop moving!!!!!

I am probably out of the norm, but I don't mind the "sea legs" after the cruise. For me it usually lasts about 4 days but on my last cruise I learned the trick of taking Bonine AFTER I got off the ship for a few days and I didn't feel the "sea legs" at all.

It took me almost 2 weeks from our cruise on 2-6. :( It didnt help the waves were really high and rough the first night!

good luck!

For me it's always been Tower Of Terror. Keeps me good for a hour or so (or maybe that how long the wait is to get on TOT:) ) Mission Space wasn't open after our last cruise (we went BEFORE hand) but I'm sure that it will work the same as TOT for me!!

We were also on a very rough cruise and it took me about 2 weeks to stop rolling and I also took the Bonine for a few days after getting off the ship.

I just checked my old thread. We cruised the 3/20 Eastern and I finally stopped rocking 4/14. 17 days after we got off the ship it stopped!

It's completely individual. I've never had post cruise sea legs with the new stabilized ships. I used to feel it for a few hours after a hard sail on my catalina 22.
The only time on a cruise, that I felt it afterwards was on the old American Hawaii Cruise line duing a heavy storm. We only had about 40% of the ship at meals and you had to hang on to the railings to walk along the hallways. It was an old transatlantic ship built in the 50s and without stabilizers.

Yuck Al ! I actually had to hang on a few times on this last cruise as well but I think I would have died on your cruise!

By the way - day 6 and still feeling it but now it feels more like a constant hangover than anything else. Funny I wasn't able to drink while on the ship!

I couldn't seem to get my sea legs back for about 2 weeks; I was dizzy and nauseous. Come to find out - I was pregnant! :faint: Could this be a possibility? ;)

I expected it to take at least a day or two, but nothing, zip, nada. Walked off the ship and onto land like I'd never been gone. I guess it depends on the person. So for me, the sea legs didn't even last a day!
