How long to get out of airport??

I was just wondering does anyone know how long it will take to get through customs, get luggage and out of the airport when coming home?? Its just we are travelling by train to london st pancras and then getting the gatwick express across and vica versa and I need to know rough times so I can book my train tickets for coming home. My plane lands at 6.55am. Also if u are doing twilight check in what is the best time to check in? Which is the least busiest time

We came back a few weeks ago and landed at the sametime as u, we we're out of the airport and into a taxi by 8:15!

I would say an hour and a half roughly - depends on how quick they get the baggage off the plane and you collect them also.
If you are like me your cases will be offloaded last.

Well, it took us 2hrs 40mins to get out of Gatwick a few Sundays ago flying in from Sanford with TCD. It took over 20 mins to attach the stairway and over 90 mins for our cases to appear. To top it off, childrens buggies came off last over 2 hours after landing. Gatwick South Arrivals can be a real Zoo but so can Manchester. It's just luck of the draw really although TCD's ground handlers got the blame......

Unfortunately its a case of how longs a piece of string? I've flown in from San Francisco and got off the plane, grabbed luggage and been out of the airport in 20 minutes before. When I came back from India last time it took 2 and a half hours! I'd estimate an average to be about an hour.
