I called last Friday at about 1:30 and asked for a quote- I didn't expect to hear back that afternoon but I was sure there would be a message on my machine today. NOTHING!! And no call on my caller ID.... How long did it take you to get your quotes??

I got my quote in about 1 hour, then I went to another AAA office this morning and got a different quote!

It took me a while to get a quote. Disney was still having computer problems, so they couldn't get through to book the discounted package. Then every time she had Disney and I both on the phone, Disney's computers kept calculating the quote without the discount. Thankfully, they finally got it right, and we're all set.

I would just call back and leave a message asking if they've been able to get a quote from Disney. If the quote doesn't sound right, make sure they're calculating the discount (subject to availability). It should be less than what Disney's online reservations show.

I had the same problem with AAA!!! I waited about as long as you had. I decided to call my agent. What is the worst she can say" i dont have it finished yet". Atleast you'll know she didnt forget about you. It might put your mind at ease.

I just called back and she said Disney's computers are down etc. It's so frustrating- I actually hate to use AAA instead of DU but my understanding is to get the AAA discount off of a package you have to go through AAA. Am I right?

Yes, that's correct. If you want an AAA discount on a package you will have to book through AAA.

Well she called yesterday with a quote over a hundred dollars MORE than I can get on the WDW website W/OUT the AAA discount. I told her so and she sounded confused. I hate to use AAA instead of DU :guilty:

Also remember, that DU will watch the codes for you, make your PS, etc.
If AAA is more then I would probably see what DU quotes you. You can get an AAA room only discount through DU - that is if you don't mind not having a package. I also imagine that DU would run all the numbers (room only v. Package) for you to see if a package really makes sense dollarwise.

Finally got my quote from the local agent- a whole whopping $65 cheaper than if I do it through Disney myself. According to the agent Disney is telling them that is the absolute CHEAPEST price for my package.

2 adults, 1 jr, 1 child.......MYW 7 day plus hopping only, dining plan, CBR standard room. With the discount of $65 (20% value season) that means that the hotel portion was only about $345 or so (Ihave it figured out somewhere) that's a great price for a moderate for 7 nights, but I don't think so!!

Something is messed up because CBR in value season should be $134 + tax. With a 20% discount it's still a whole lot more than $345!!

Why can't the AAA agents figure out what the price should be?

As for how long it takes to get an AAA quote, I emailed over a week ago, got a response that the WDW computers were acting up, and that's the last I've heard.

I got a quote from AAA, took just a few hours. I have always used AAA and love it. I asked for quotes from DU as well and AAA was $130 cheaper than DU for my package. DU gave the exact same price as Disney. My TA at AAA said that Disney is misquoting the packages constantly. She said that they not only had to learn this new packaging and ticket pricing (just trained them 3 weeks ago!), but they also had a new computer system put in to learn as well. Disney's server continues to go down and they can't get in to get any rates. She said it is driving them all crazy along with their clients. Hang in there, once Disney gets the kinks worked out it should be much easier. I have always used AAA and have always gotten the best price.

My agent basically just told me that she would try 1 more time and if nothing changed I should go somewhere else. Nice huh??

I wouldn't even give her one more try; she's losing out on a pretty decent commission. Hope the AAA agent contact info I gave you helps out.

I finally got a reply today. And of course, my quote is exactly the same as the disney website!!

I have pretty much given up on the idea of a package.
