I used to live in Sacramento and drove many times down to LA. I've never driven from SF to DL but my guess would be that it would be around 7 hours(more depending on traffic).
It'll take 6 1/2 to 7 hours if you only stop for quick rest stops. You shouldn't hit too much traffic until your north of Los Angeles. But if your traveling on the weekend it won't be too bad.
We have to stop at least 3 times - twice for potty breaks, once for a meal - so about 7 1/2 - 8 hours for us. But I were driving solo, I'd stop just once to fill up - so about 6 1/2 hours.
Of course, this is all contingent about how fast you're going...and how many CHPs there are!
We just did this in reverse. It took us just under 8 hours. That included a gas stop, bathroom break, Starbucks break , and a fast-food lunch break. My kids are 4 and 8 so we probably needed more leg stretching time than couples without kids. You could get stuck getting through LA if you arrive in the late afternoon - 4:00ish. That could easily add another hour.
Well it depends. If you go up the 5 on a Sunday it's pretty fast until you hit Santa Clarita. It seems once you hit LA it takes forever. I know some people do the drive at night while the kids sleep deal, and they you could probably make it in about 9 hours.
No, it's only about 408 miles from Disneyland to San Francisco so if you average 65 miles per hour without stopping it takes less than 6 1/2 hours.
I've actually made it to the outskirts of San Francisco in about 6 hours but I drove faster than 65 MPH. This included 2 stops at the rest stops and 1 stop for Gas/Food. This was on a weekend though.
I got there in a about 6 hours, with 2 girls 3 and 5. We stopped for breakfast and gas. We left at about 6:15 AM and arrived a little after 12PM. That was going on average 78 MPH
exactly!!...I live about 2 hours from the oakland bay bridge which takes you over to SF and from my house it takes me about 5 hours driving with one gas/potty break...and that is me driving exactly that speed but once I get down to around commerce I hit traffic most of the way to anaheim...so I tend to agree with the other posters about 7 to 7 1/2 hours unless your going 90 and driving in the middle of the night and then it might be 6
