Ok, now that things have changed to ADR's do you still have to wait a while to be seated? This always drove me nuts before. I understand up to 15 min. but any longer is really hard when you have a toddler. I was wondering if this has improved. THanks!

It depends on the time of year, of course, but we waited more than 15 minutes only once during our recent trip in January, at Brown Derby. DN1.5 was fidgety, but managed okay.

Yes. ADRs are simply PSs with a different, supposedly clearer name  My opinion is, putting the word "reservation" in makes it appear they're actually holding a specific table for you...
Anyway, you still need to arrive five or ten minutes early and check in at the podium. You will still be seated at the next available table for your size party at or after your ADR time. Many of the TS restaurants will give you a beeper-type thing that will flash when your table is ready. You probably shouldn't wander too far, but at least you can move away from the immediate entrance and still know when your table IS ready.

I cannot remember the last time we had reservations at a restaurant here in MA where the restaurant actually reserved a table for us. I think that type of thing is relegated to the restaurants far more expensive than we can ever afford. :)

Yes, it depends on time of year. And I think also the restaurant and time of your ressie. In my experience, we have always waited the longest for breakfast and dinner, but got in quickly for lunch. We have had waits of 20 min. or more at Garden Grill (dinner), Donalds (breakfast) - which BTW has no pagers and you must listen for them to yell your name, and Cape May (breakfast). I have heard of long waits at Le Cellier, but when we went for lunch it was less than 5 minutes.

The longest we've waited was at Sci-fi last Sept/Oct...at least 1/2 hour, maybe more.

We also waited quite awhile for Le Cellier last year on the same trip.

We also always wait a good while for LTT on MNSSHP/MVMCP party nights.

Changing the name didn't really change the process that we can tell. We have been seated immediately, and had to wait 45 or more minutes. Just depends on the day and the restaurant.

We've only waited 15 minutes at everywhere except Coral Reef, it was nearly 45 minutes and so not worth it.

I have found that waits are not too long. And however long the wait is, it sure beats not having a place to eat at all. Usually not a problem. I recommend making reservations for every planned meal, except of course, counter service.

Enjoy.

If you don't want to wait, I would try to make your dinner reservations for 5pm. On our recent trip, we had NO waits at Le Cellier, The Brown Derby, and LTT with 5pm ADR's.

We did wait about 20 minutes for our table at WCC to open up on a Saturday night. The ADR time was 7:40pm.

Hope that helps!

I had a feeling that the name change was only a name change and wouldn't effect the wait times. The only time we could get Le Cellier was 8:30. That was the only time on our entire trip we could get a table for 5. I wanted a late time at O'Hana's b/c I was hoping to catch the fireworks again. Sci-Fi is also late (8ish) b/c we're doing the new character breakfast at 10:00 that day. I guess I need to plan on long waits. Oh well. At least there's 4 adults to help entertain our DS.

I've only waited longer than 5-10 minutes once. At San Angel Inn, we waited about 20 minutes for a table, but were informed of that when we checked in at the counter.

Our longest wait is usually at the Sci-fi- we have waited more than a half hour on most occasions. Most times we are seated within 20 minutes or so.

Yes most of them 10/15 mins but the Sci Fi at MGM is run very badly if you turn up early they didnt take the ressie they said come back at the exact time, then you are added on at that time, she said 30 mins ot me but in the end it was just less.
