How long to add on points at sold out resort?

Please take my VWL off because I have my POINTS....

DVC sure makes it soooooo easy.

Now I wait and wait and WAIT for my BCV points!

I guess I never made it to actually being put on this thread's wait list... BUT

We waitlisted on Monday afternoon for 150 points Oct UY at VWL and they came through today. With the 150 we bought at BWV last month, we're happy campers!

DVC add on was really very easy. I got all 150 points for the 2005 use year, too. Already banked them into 2006 today, just hours after they were in my account.

Yesterday my guide told me there were no December VWL points showing as available. I wonder if they got some new points in? Oh, I hope I get a call soon! You weren't on for too long, right?

Ok, This add-on-itis is getting crazy. Bought our original SSR contract 1 1/2 years ago, added on at BWV last August (which only took ~10 days) and just called our guide today to add-on another 35 BWV points, March UY.

I'll let you know when it comes through.

WooHoo. Got our points today. I was paying my CC bill online and noticed we had a $500 pending charge so I checked the DVC website and we're the proud owners of an additional 35 BW points. And they're 2006 points so we can use 'em or bank 'em beginning right now!

So I guess it took 4 or 5 days, depending on how you look at it.

When I've added on via Disney in the past (around 9 months ago) and had to go on a waitlist my guide called me to let me know I got the points and the paperwork will be submitted that day, though I could call to cancel if I had changed my mind. The new points would be in my account for use within a couple of days and the paperwork would arrive at my home roughly a few more business days after that.

The guide called and by that point, the initial charge was on the CC and the points were in our account. The paperwork came in the mail AFTER I'd already called to bank the 2005 points into 2006! Did that the same day we got them.

Once the paperwork came, we paid the remaining balance on the points.

It was all VERY smooth.

I just got off the phone with my guide to ask her if she could tell me where I am on the list. I am #9 out of 15 for BCV December use year. But when I called she immediately asked me "are you on that Dis thing?" I said yes and she said "do you people have some kind of a plan to all call in April and May?" She was just kidding around but she said she had been flooded with calls the past 2 months with people wanting to get on the BCV list and most of them had mentioned they belonged to the Dis. I just thought it was really funny that she asked my if I was on "that Dis thing." Made me lol!

First let me say that.... I don't "AT ALL" profess to know how the wait list actually works....don't think anyone does...but...

I can share with you....my year's wait for 100 pts. and some monthly insight learning experiences from my guide.

Knowing where you are on the list..really means nothing. That's why guides don't, shouldn't tell you. The key is "How many pts. are available, in a UY, to be "allocated" to the list and what is the best way for Disney to dispurse them.

Example:
Say there are 80 available pts.
waiter #1 wants 50
waiter #2 wants 80
waiter #3 wants 50

Waiter #2 can get these pts.,or, waiter #1 will get his and waiter #2 will be offered 30 pts., then wait list for the rest.
Same scenerio if there were 100 pts. available and waiter #3 wants 100., then probably #3 would get those pts....yes, I hear it has happened.

Nope...no one "really knows" what or how they do it.

Talk about being frustrated...all year!!! WOW !!!
In my personal instance, I could swear that the Sept UY was removed, ignored, not in the system...ugh

Well...in Dec I was offered 70pt., then waitlisted for the other 30 which I got in Jan. The good news...I got the "old" price!

Don't be discouraged... It WILL Happen for ALL of you..and..you won't even remember the duration of the wait after you get YOUR pts.!!!!

Wow, I didn't know my guide wasn't supposed to tell me where I was on the list. She even told me to feel free to call back as often as I liked to see where I am. I asked her if she knew how long it would be and of course she didn't, but she said there are a lot of people waiting for any use year and those get granted before those waiting for a specific use year. That didn't seem right to me, but she insisted that is how it works. It seems like the people waiting for any UY should just be on the waitlist for all UY's. Anyone know anything about this?

I don't think that makes sense either. What I heard was each Use Year has a waiting list and when you specify "Any" use year..then your name gets put on each of the 12 different wait lists. So you could be 5th on the dec list and 15th of Feb list (as an example).

What I wasn't sure about was what senecabeach just went thru (thank you). So if they just got in 50 points don't "save up" the points to provide 150 to the first guy on the list, they just skip him and move down to the next person that needs 50 or less. I guess that makes sense (annoyingly so for someone that wants 150).
