How long should it take to receive membership cards?

We closed on our DVC membership during the week of 3/8/2004. We still have not received our membership cards or member info packet. Does anyone know who long this normally takes?

Do I need to call member services?

It took an exceptionally long time for ours' to arrive (or "a wicked long time", as we say here in New England). We bought direct from DVD one July, but did not get our permanent plastic cards until February! This was after three MS phonecalls

Others have had better luck.

I'd call MS. This has been a problem for some time with DVC.

It used to be that the card was no big deal, all you needed was your member number to make ressies, and your room key would have "DVC Member" printed on it, but recently a number of "non Disney" merchants offering discounts to DVC members have been asking to see the blue card.

Hmmm... we closed at BWV about the same time and got our member packet within a couple of weeks. The cards came later... some time in April. I'd call MS and ask.

We closed on a resale on April 20th and received my member card in appx. 1 month.

I was expecting a long wait but was pleasantly surprised. I did call MS before the cards arrived and was told that it could take a couple of months

We received ours in a very short time as well. Definitely call MS as they may need to verify some info. on your membership if you have never spoken to them before.

Update. I called member services and talked to Melissa (wonderful attitude and personality). She said she could take care of the membership cards and would mail them out right away. She also checked on our membership package and stated that it was sent out some time ago and that we should have received it by now. Since we had not, she would request to have another package sent to us.

Hopefully we will see these soon.
