I don't really want to go into all the details but DH and I are so totally different in the way we plan anything. Basically he likes to just up and go (then complain because things aren't just right)and I would rather plan things out so I know what to expect. I've been planning this trip since Christmas and was all ready to make hotel ressies for CP, purchase Park Hoppers and everything when DH drops a surprise in April that his best friend is gonna fly us down so we won't have so much driving to do. Anyway, there's a question now as to when we are actually going to go and I can't get him to answer me and when I keep asking then I'm "nagging" him and he's tired of hearing about the vacation.

Taking my sister's advice I typed up an agenda of my tentative plans and dates with all the information that I need from him and gave it to him last week and explained that I needed answers by Memorial Day weekend. Well, it's Sunday night and he hasn't even looked at it and I know he hasn't called his friend.

I'm getting nervous and don't want to lose the possibility of getting a room at CP.

What should I do. It's just a matter of whether we are arriving in Florida on Saturday or Sunday and are we leaving on Friday or Saturday of the following week. Should I just reserve Saturday thru Saturday and then for the $10 fee just cancel the nights that aren't needed if any? I'm just aprehensive about being charged for 7 nights and not being able to be refunded for 2 of them if not needed.

Thanks for letting me vent and any help regarding the ressies .... or how to handle a cranky DH is appreciated.

UPDATE!!!!

Finally convinced DH that he needed to call his friend and get things underway. Got my dates, booked our rooms thru HK and all is well. Now DH is kinda excited that I got such a great deal on a great place to stay. He couldn't believe we are getting a 2bdrm w/ jacuzzi tub for that price!

Ugh, I know that must be maddening for you. My DH is not at all into planning for a vacation either, but thankfully, he doesn't object to me planning.

I would feel comfortable waiting until about a month out before making firm ressies, but if you don't, then by all means book it. $10 isn't much of a cancellation/change fee if it gives you peace of mind. Also, if you are committed to only staying at CP then you might want to go even further out than a month. If not, if you wait until the last minute to appease your husband you just MIGHT find a great deal on skyauction - I've seen amazing last minute deals there. Its taking a risk though, so you'll need to make the decision which is most important -- knowing that you have a place no matter what, or taking a risk on getting some place really fabulous for dirt cheap. One thing is for sure, you will never lack for someplace to stay in Orlando - the hotels are plentiful. :)

Good luck!

I say book it for your own piece of mind. I have also seen rates go up on Hotel Kingdom before as we got closer to the dates. $10 isn't much for your own piece of mind. And if you find a great deal you can always cancel this one. They might not charge you the $10 if you have to change just a day or two. That might be more for changing from one resort to another. I don't know this for sure though. Good Luck! We are taking advantage of the CP deal in July.

You can also book CP and CPGV at www.vrivacations.com

I have booked thru them for the Destin Resort and had no prloblems.

I don't think they have a cancellation fee, but your should check with them to be sure.
