How long should I stay at WDW?

Well, I think you will hear a variety of lengths.... I think you need to take a lot into consideration:

~Have you been before? If so, how long ago did you go? If you have never been to WDW, everything will be new - meaning you will want to take more time to soak it all in and to see everything. If you just went last year, you may be able to hit the things you really like, and skip some other things you have already seen.

~How many parks do you want to do? Do you want to have time to see a water park, Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island, the Boardwalk? If so, that will add time to your trip.

All being said, I think a relaxing, enjoyable trip is 7-10 days. That gives you time to see most everything, and some things twice! But, you can still visit all of the parks in 4-5 days as well. It really just depends on what works for your family. Either way - you will have a blast! You are at Disney!!

Have a great time!! :sunny:

As long as you can afford.

The first time I went to WDW we spent 6 days in the parks. We were able to see most of everything we wanted to but didn't do the water parks, pleasure island or Disneyquest. The next time we go I think we will do 8 days in the parks so that we can go at a slower pace and catch some of the things we weren't able to before.

1 to 2 months should be long enough!

. I don''t think the iissue is how many people it has more to do with 1.have you ever been before? 2. Is this your one and only vacation to Disney? 3.How much time can everyone get off from work and school? 4.How much can you afford? You could probably see quite a bit (of the parks) in about a week.

Like PP said, depends on your group. And since you haven't been to WDW before, I'd say at least a week, but ten days is better. I go for 12 days at a time, and I still never get done everything I want to do. (And now I'm going once a year.)

If you can strech it to 8 days but we have been many times and have done from 1 day at the parks up to 12 days.

The more days you stay the slower you can go and obsorb the magic.

I totally agree.

We did 8 days and I wished we could of stayed longer. We thought it would be our one and only trip, but we had so much fun, we'll be back.

I personally would love to stay there forever but I aint got that kinda money, anyway for 2 adults 3 kids you should stay about 5 days. I say this b/c with 5 days you can do most of the stuff you want to do, like rides, shows and things like that.

Last year was the first time in many years for us and we spent 6 days there. We wanted to do and see it ALL! We(dh,ds8 and me) took no breaks. Up at dawn and down at closing time. WE WERE POOPED! It HURT to get out of bed!

As most everyone else has pointed out, it depends. We stayed 7 days this last trip, then went to US for 2 days. That was are longest stay at WDW. We still didn't do many things (one visited one water park), but it almost felt like one day too many. We spent the last two days mainly repeating rides and shows we liked the most.

Take the advice already given and stay a little longer since it is your first trip. You will likely be overwhelmed (and very tired) at first.

If you like to stay at the parks all day (commando style) and your kids are older, you can pack more fun into shorter trips.

If you will be doing one or more water parks, you might want to add an extra day. We usually stop by DQ for a few hours on at least two afternoons, so you don't necessarily need an extra day to take this site in.

If your family prefers parades and shows over rides, you might want to give yourself extra time because it seems to take longer to arrange to see all the shows at each park. We often end up missing a show or two because we didn't have enough time.

If you think your family will want to carefully explore all the countries at Epcot, take in the movies, meals, culture of each place, you will need more time. You could easily spend 3 days at Epcot and still not see everything.

Here is what we like to do:
MK - 1 and 1/2 days
EP - 2 days
AK - 1/2 to 1 day
MGM - 1 day
Water parks - 1/2 day each
DQ - few hours to 1/2 day
DD - a couple of evening trips (allow more time for serious shoppers :rotfl2: )

Congrats on deciding on 10 days! We stayed for 7 days our first trip and loved it but would have loved to stay longer. This time, we are staying 10 days. We are a family of 5 also, but DD13 counts as an adult for tickets and dining plan. Our total budget is right around $5000 staying 10 nights at POR with park hoppers and the DDP, so you may not NEED to camp and stay under that budget! Just a thought... Of course, if you're flying that may be the kicker - we're driving, so that $5000 includes gas, souvies, and other incidentals. Have a great time regardless :)

If you're camping, you may find you need a day or two to take in all there is to do at FW. Chip&Dale Campfire, Pony rides, Horseback Riding, Hayride, boating, etc :thumbsup2

Wow, we've never gone for 10 days, though we've done 9 in the Orlando area. We sort of like the idea that we can't see EVERYTHING on every visit. Actually,we never been to a water park at WDW. It just seems like something we could do elsewhere (and have done elsewhere) WE might hit one on our next trip though becuse we've been, and we like seeing new things.

With ten days, you'll be able to see some of the other things in Orlando, if you so choose. Also, with ten days, I'd probably be certain to check out DisneyQuest, if your family is at all into video games (They have more than that there, but that's the starting basis.) It's also a great possibility to sendthe guys to DQ while the women hit the shops at DTD.

Ten days will also give you time to explore some of the resorts, too. I suggest having a few meals at some of the resorts other than Ft. W amd WL.

After 38 some visits to WDW, we've come to the conclusion that10 nights or more is just about right to see and do most everything at a leisurely pace. Throw in a water park, a down day to explore and shop and you have the makings for a relaxing WDW vacation. Even with the noon breaks, we see all to see, we do not stay at parks from opening to closing, we amble, stop and gawk and proceed on. No real touring plan but we make a circular trip around the parks and see whats in front of us.

The longer the stay, the more casual the pace, what you could miss can be seen next time or trip. So much to do around the property other than the parks, it takes time and stamina and the length of stay dictates the rate at which you travel. Being in WDW for 4-5 days is tough, 4 parks and 2 water parks is constent running with no time for resort relaxation but you mst do what you have to. I'ld take a 4 days trip any day over no trip at all but always try to extend it as much as possible, never enough time in Disney for us.
