This was a huge issue in our recent furniture purchase, I finally went with a local store, got my custom sofa in 4 weeks, exactly what I wanted, made in the US---and I spent a lot less money on it.
I think I would go ask for my money back--or have your Dh go. If they won't give you a reasonable explaination or the money, call the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce--and let the store know you will be calling.
