How long is the walk from OKW Building 55 to Gideons in Springs?

We will be staying at OKW next week and have always used the water taxi to get to Disney Springs because we have always had a room near the Hospitality House. I was thinking if we get a room in the back South Point section, it may easier/faster to walk to Gideons for our morning coffee but wasnt sure what I was getting myself into What is the quickest way to get to Springs if your building is not near the water taxi?

Google maps says is about 1.5 miles from the South Point Pool to Gideon's. Walking from OKW to Disney Springs takes you though the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course.

The challenge is you have to go around the golf course, no matter where you are in OKW. I would guess about a mile and a half.

Oh ok. Didn't know that. Wonder where you can bike from? I seen the bike racks at Disney Springs entrance last January.

Thanks for all the replies!! I did look at Google but for some reason was thinking it was closer. 3 miles roundtrip is a bit much to start our day at Disney Gideons cold brew is just sooo good.

Im thinking it would be a time investment to bus to the lobby and then water taxi to Springs so I guess if we get assigned a room that is not a close walk to the water taxi we may have to skip our Gideons this trip.

Walking path open sunrise to sunset follows the waterway. (Not on the golf course paths). There are two bridge crossing options if want to take and explore the Saratoga Springs side. Very scenic. Give yourself about 20 minutes.

Don’t think they allow bikes between the two resorts on the path. Can’t remember the sign postings.

They may not. I dont know. I just wonder where those bikes that were locked up at that rack were from?

Only a guess. Maybe with Disney Springs at Disney property boundary, bikes ridden there from public area there.

That's what I was going to say. Locals either visiting or working there.

You can ride a bike on the path. I walked it yesterday and have walked it many times. It’s busy with golf carts driven by Disney staff. One thing to know, you have to go just a very short distance in the golf cart path and then back behind Disney Springs and up to the second floor of the parking garage to go through security to get in. Your other option would be to cross over the bridge to Saratoga Springs and then down to the bridge on the west side and cross over to security checkpoint on west end.

I think it was poor that they made it so hard to take the walkway to Disney Springs. That used to be one of our favorite parts of staying at OKW.
