As some of your are aware my bank cards were recently compromised and a large amount of money was spent on online gambling and fortune telling, the minute I realised I reported this to my bank (this was the day after it happened) on the 22nd January, a stop was put on my debit cards from being used any further and 2/3 days later the money was credited to my account. I am still however waiting for new cards, and whenever I phone I am told that I should recieve them in the next couple of days! It is getting very difficult to keep leaving work to access my local branch during opening hours and I really am not happy about keep carrying cash around. I have started a letter of complaint which will be sent to them as soon as I finally recieve the cards - has any one else experience of this kind, how long did you have to wait!!!

No personal experience of this Claire. However, if the bank has cancelled the cards, realitically it shouldn't take anymore than 7 working days to receive replacements.

Personally I would contact the bank again. Good Luck.

Which bank are you with? Watchdog had a story recently about people waiting over a year to get new cards? I think that was Abby/Santander.

This alliance and leicester we have been with them for 20+ years when they were Girobank!

When this happened with my credit card I received my new card with 10 days.

It really shouldn't take the length of time to make a new account & cards that it has with you. I would contact them again & voice your concerns.

I agree, I would've expected new cards within a fortnight. I hope you get them soon :thumbsup2

I would be asking for some sort of compensation if it carries on for muh longer !

hope the cards arrive soon x x

It took ages for my last debit card to arrive after the old one expired - in the end I rang the bank and as it was apparently "lost in the post" for security reasons I would have to collect the replacement from my branch.

Day after I collected my new card the original arrived in the post LOL

Finally recieved my new cards in post this afternoon, but when DH rang to authorise them they tried to sell him identity insurance at £119.98 to protect my name, address, car reg etc, if I was to insure against this I am not sure that I would do so with alliance & leicester after their handling of this problem

I'm glad the cards have arrived but the protection policy is a racket! If you do want to get cover you can get it for around £65 or so - not the amount they were charging. Daylight robbery!
