Hi Everyone, We need some help. How long is long enough in New york City?

We would like to go to Coney Island and see Empire State, Times Square and Central Park, plus whatever else is a must do

Would we be able to do that in 3 days?

Is that 3 full days - as in neither of those are travelling days? We were there for 3 full days and 2 half days (travelling days, couldnt really fit much else in).

It was enough to see the highlights - but really just left me wanting more - I would try for at least another day.

Make sure to research Coney Island before you go, my DH and the boys went, while DD and I had a shopping day. Its at least an hour on the train and when they got there, they found it to be closed! :rotfl: I think its only open in the Summer months.

I agree with Battymum, try to have 4 full days there. It is such a vast city with a huge "must see" list. I'm not sure of your other destinations on your trip but I would consider cutting a day somewhere else to get another NYC day :)

Yer I think your both right, 4 days plus travel days would be the go.

Would like to do

Staute of Lib
Empire State
Central Park/Fao Swartz/America Girl
Times Square
Coney Island (if open)

Then we are off to Orlando to do Disneyworld and Busch Gardens,KSC,Universal and maybe Seaworld plus have some days off in-between. Then 4 days in LA on the way back to do Disneyland and Possibly San Diago Zoo

4 weeks from time we leave home back to home (if possible)

How long do you stay at WDW? last time we stayed 6 full days 7 nights

We did 11 nights at WDW last time. My DH couldn't really give a flying FIG about anything Disney but he indulges me (to a point hahaha) but he said that we truly could not have done anything less and there was so much we missed. :). I was surprised he felt that way. I totally knew I did but didn't realise he would.

We are going back in December and doing 11 nights again and when we were planning this trip I realised I couldn't possibly do any less. I could've done more but think DH would've kicked up . I am very lucky that my non Disney DH indulges me in this.

we did 3 days in nyc and i would have loved to do a fourth... so i highly recommend at least 3-4 full days.

i'm trying to plan a trip which includes nyc again.

we're also trying to plan a wdw trip... but the cost for us for wdw is greater than the same amt of time at dlr... decisions, decisions.

hope you enjoy nyc... we found it amazing :)

We did 4 nights - arrived late in the day, and left at lunch time, so only 3 full days. We would have liked another 2 days.

DH & I are heading to NY in July for 7 full days... This is our first visit to NY, even though we have been to the USA numerous times. We have been told by a lot of people that you need time there. People say with NY, you either love it or hate it. (Haven't come across anyone that hated it).

I figure that it will be like most places you visit for the first time. You see the sights then cruise around at your pace. Take it all in and try and do what the "locals" do.

A little side note - DH & I have tickets to see a Yankee game... Can not begin to tell you how excited we are about that. :cheer2:

7 days will be perfect for your first visit. You will love it.

As for a yankees game, it will be a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is fabulous. Only negative is how much the food and drinks cost but other than that, it is awesome.
