Depending on when you're going, it will take at least four to five hours just for the houses...if you don't do S & S or have an Express Plus pass for the evening. I think you said in another thread you are going to be able to to S & S which will help greatly. You could do three or four houses before the lines get really long. The shows are scheduled throughout the night so you'll have to check the park map for times on the night you're going and figure those times into your plans...as well as any attractions you want to do. Jaws is really cool at night but since the others that were open last night are indoors, it won't make much difference in the ride experience.

All in all it will be a full night...if you want to do everything.

If you go on a non-peak night,be there for Stay and Scream so you could get a jump on the first houses open without a wait you could do all the houses and shows without express in one night, that's what I do every year so I know,If you however go on a Friday or Saturday get there at 7 or 8pm you might only get to do half the houses and maybe a show without express. So it's all about how and when you go.

Just wanted to add that you really need to do each house a couple of times to really experience them properly.

I am gonna disagree with this statement...though there is some truth in it...I have done some houses multiple times, and have actually disliked them more going through multiple times...sometimes that one GREAT scare that made you love it, does not happen again, or you get to know the house to well and can predict it more...

To add OP...I have done HHN for 13yrs, and have never missed a house, or a show I wanted to see, and I have never done a EP. JUst do S&S, get the houses that are nearby done early, then plan the rest of the night accordingly. I always go on a Thursday.

It works both ways though, the houses can be hit or miss . If you went to HHN and did each house only once you can guarantee that you'd miss a large percentage of the scares / details in each house.

There's been times that I've been through some of the houses and missed nearly every scare because someone infront was moving too slowly.

Personally I notice so many new things each time I repeat a house, they're so detailed there's alot to take in. :)

If you can, I would definitely get an express pass. It was worth it for us on a non-peak night and a peak night. Both times we walked right in every house. Night one we saw all the houses and did all the open rides by 10 and then redid some (with a wait). Night two we did it all again. We had no wait either day (Thursday and Friday mid-October) with the EP. We didn't have much of an interest in shows, so that would probably add a few hours.

I'm going to agree that there are times it's a good idea to do some houses multiple times.I remember in 2007 they had the Jason/Friday the 13th Camp blood house which was one of the first ones open,as it was located by Jaws it wasn't a totally blacked out building like the soundstages are meaning that at 6:30pm the house was still not dark enough,we did it later on at night and it was much better. Also sometimes early on some of the houses feel a bit light on scareactors.Another time to maybe redo a house is also when it's early and you might go through a house pretty fast as there's not a huge line and you just don't get to see all you would if you were in a slow moving line through the house.

Im a HHN noob, only on our 3rd trip, but even with EP find we need to hustle to see all the houses (with a few repeats of favs) and had problems working in all the shows.

RIP tour allowed repeat visits with different casts. All the scareactors are excellent (I still cannot believe people shaved their heads, talk about dedication to one's craft!), but it appeared as though several put their own 'spin' on things:thumbsup2. It certainly kept it exciting:goodvibes. Another factor is where you are located in the line walking through the house. It's A different experience if you have somebody you can hide behind;)

I cannot wait for this year!

i always do each house twice.

i try to time it in order to catch Team A and Team B in action.
they switch off at different time periods.

if you see the scare actors lined up by the house, that means the transition is going to take place.

sometimes one of the teams in the houses impress me more than the other.

you can get a different experience based on which scare actors are involved in the house you are going through.

We did Halloween weekend in '08 and '09, which were both pretty busy. We had express passes and just barely managed to do everything, but we did dawdle alot as well. We are a fan of adult beverages, so that did eat up alot of time between houses. And my wife loves Mummy, so we did that about 4 times as well. If you can spare the cash for EP, definitely worth it.

Hello everyone, thanks for your replies. You don't have to be an annual passholder to purchase rush of fear do you?

No...the ROF pass is available to anyone but passholders get a great discount. The regular ROF pass is $69.99 plus tax and the passholder rate is $54.99 plus tax.

Wow fast reply thanks...I think that is a great value ....do you all think going 3 days is over kill?
