I was just thinking (I know not a promising start to a thread ;) ) I've known the girl I consider my best friend for 15 years this year! That's almost 1/2 my life

So a pointless poll...

How long have you known your best friend?

I've been married to her for 20 years and known her 25.:goodvibes

my first best mate i have known for 2-5 years because ive known her from the start of secondaty school

but my second best friends zoe and sam i have known for just under a year

I met my best mate Lynne about 12 years ago, we both worked at the local playschool and both our youngest kids went there. She's absolutely bonkers and mad about Winnie the Pooh too

I met my best mate Lorraine in 1989 when we both started teacher training... :thumbsup2

My best friend, Christine (who most of you now 'know' after my last trippies) has been my bessie mate for almost 14 years. I can't believe I've known her longer than my kids and my husband - that feels so strange.

Luckily I have been to Disney with my best friend Lisa, twice now and to Disneyland Paris. We always go away for weekends. I have known her since she was 9 and I was 16. She is my ex-fiance's sister. I am now 43 so I have known her for 27 years this May. We both love booking holidays and drinking cocktails. I am still trying to convert her more to Disney but she is not like us. Also our DHs work together and our children have the same birthday. Hopefully she will be my best friend in 27 years time as well and we will go to Bingo together!

Oh that is sweet:love:

I have known my best friend Sally since our first year in Primary School and we are 36 now so that is 31 years. She was my bridesmaid when I got married but we had a disagreement not long after and lost touch for a couple of years and got back in touch when she invited me to her wedding. We have a laugh now that she has to get married again so I can get a shot at being a bridesmaid:lmao:

I met my best friend in senior school when we were about 13 so its been about 15 years now. :goodvibes

I met my best friend Gill when we both started pre-school so we would be nearly 3,( we are now nearly 35:scared1: ) her mum has photos of us playing at her 4th birthday party and apparently we shut ourselves in the family caravan and wouldn't let anyone else in! We lost touch at senior school but then started hanging around with the same gang at 16, we then lost touch at 19 due to certain boyfriends and then i bumped into her a couple of years later, when i was splitting up with that boyfriend and within a week had moved into her spare room. All i can say to any youngster is to live with a friend first before settling down, we had a mad 2 years before we met our dh's and now we are always there for each other even if we don't speak every week!

I met mine when she was dating ex-DH's brother and we just clicked. Needless to say we have got rid of the Brothers Grimm:lmao: but she now rents a room in my house, and we still get along great, shes more like family to me and the kids, she started dating the BIL about 3 1/2 years ago, so thats how long we've been friends:goodvibes

i met my best friend Lorna when i was dating her brother, he lasted about a week;) and we are still friends 13yrs later :)

i also have another close friend Susan and we met at primary school so ive known her nearly 30 years :)

they are both very dear to me

I have known my best friend since senior school. We have been friends for 18 years. I cant believe it. Time has gone so quick. She is still as mad as the day she lefy Senior school. She is a great laugh and we talk about anything.

I have known my best friend Dorothy since i was born (39 years ago!), we lived next to each in Glasgow. I moved away with my family to Aberdeenshire when i was very young and we were both devastated! but we still kept in touch and visited each other a few times a year. My grandma stayed near her and she used to visit her all the time, she was her adopted grandma :goodvibes

We still text/e-mail each other a few times a day even though we live at opposite ends of Scotland and i went down for a visit and stayed with her and her family for a few days during the easter hols.

I can't remember never knowing her,
We feel more like sisters than friends,
When we get together we're as mad as a bag of monkeys!

I met my best friend on the first day of secondary school and that will be 42 years ago in September. Wow that makes me almost 53 - where did the years go

I have known my best friend for 22 years and will have been married to him for 14 years this year.

My best girlfriend Helen will be I think 14 years this year, Ian was friends with her husband first, and we met through them. When we are together Ian and Neil say we cackle like a couple of witches !

The friend I have known the longest I met a nursery when I was 2 and she was 6 months, we were 'forced' to be friends and were for a good number of years but the truth was we have ziltch in common so it has fizzled to a natural ending and I dont think we've spoken in about a year or so.

My best friend is Gavin and I met him early 2002 :goodvibes

:)
