I've been here since 1991. Well, I did leave in 1998, went back to school, worked from home some and then came back here in 2001. So I have spent 15 years altogether here.

Well, 14 1/2 years in basically the same job but 3 different company names. :rolleyes1 I have lasted through 1 sale and 1 spin off/merger.

It was 4 yrs in June, but been in retail for 15....

This is my 33rd year in the same school building. I started the Sept after I got out of college.

ANd I still love teaching math

Our company is that way as well, just keep changing the name on the paystub.:goodvibes This is name change/sale of company #4 since I've been here.

:goodvibes :thumbsup2 Way to go!!!!!! Really nice to hear teachers who haven't lost their joy in teaching!!!!!

26 1/2 years. I'm now the old lady in the group.

Nine years for me (25 in the semiconductor industry though). Best company I have ever worked for. The way I see it, unless the company changes drastically, I'll only leave here one of three ways - dead, fired or retired!

:rotfl: :thumbsup2 Hopefully that will be retired!!!!!;)

I worked retail as a senior in high school and then a couple years beyond that. Are people still as grouchy around the holidays? We'd get some downright nasty people at Sears.

I've worked at Target for just over 5yrs now. Grouchy is not the word. So glad I moved off the salesfloor and into the research area. I think i'd have quit ages ago:rotfl2:

:rotfl: Yes, after you work retail you look at sales associates (or even the people who just run the cash register) in a different light. Even though I get frustrated that the local discount retailer has 40 lanes and only 3 are open with about 10 deep each........I still treat the employee with kindness and courtesy........I know they don't have any control over those decisions, even if it is frustrating for me.

Tell me:rotfl2:

Mom worked in retail a million yrs ago so we were always taught to be nice in the stores. But now that I've worked in retail, oh boy. And the 2 worst weekends of the yr are Thanksgiving weekend and now VA Tax free weekend. They don't pay me enough to work another 1 of those TF weekends. :rotfl2:

Those are bad here as well. A couple of years ago we made the mistake of taking our cub scout group to Pigeon Forge for a "before school starts back outing" to WonderWorks. Didn't think about it being tax free weekend.......there are lots of outlet malls up there........oh my.......the traffic on the main strip alone was horrendous.......I couldn't imagine having to actually get into one of those places.

9 yrs and no plans of going anywhere else. I've moved around the hospital to different departments but no plans on moving. The benefits are unbeatable and I basically pick my schedule.

That would be cool!!!!! Our boss is pretty flexible if we need to come in early so we can leave a little early or vice versa.

We did 600grand in sales 2 weeks ago for the TF weekend. I guarantee you it was wall to wall ppl. After working the first VA TF weekend, never again. They asked me on friday, I said what I said here. We don't pay me enough to do that again. The store is about destroyed at the end of it. i don't want to know how late they stayed on Sunday night to clean it up. :scared1:
